 This is my first atempt at this so everyone please be nice.  My name is Robin, I work too hard and playing Sim City is my relaxation.
Anyways I am using the map MIddle Earth made by Bigabenoit with a few minor changes to the river system.
My idea for this map is to create a realistic city, at least as far as my knowledge can take me.  Sea and airports along the rivers, lots of farms with dirt roads, small cities all the way to a major metropolis with great highway systems and interchanges.  I hope to get feed back from the people so I can create something great and learn more along the way.
I will try to update as often as possible.  Sorry for only one picture but I don't think I am done with the terrain yet.
Please enjoy.

    Sounds good, I can't wait to see the results. Just one minor thing: Airports aren't always along rivers! In fact, I have never heard of an airport along a river....

    If you need names, just go to www.mapquest.com  type in a place for a map and zoom in a little to get tons of different names for towns, districts, counties, etc.

    Dude just fix it....I think you have to edit it...Go move the pics up to down...Not side to side....

    So edit your post...because the whole page is....Really screwed up....And that is putting it lightly....

    Put spaces between the pictures. And please convert them to .jpg's using an image editor. Those .png's take forever and a half to load, even on high speed connection. Otherwise, nice start and the street layout looks potentially interesting for the future. And of course I am looking forward to some great highway systems and interchanges.

    Nice Region to start, and some nice rural settlements.
    Seem sto be a promising cj 1.gif. Keep on going!

    One Question: where did you get these nice walkways with the trees and the fences / walls at their sides? From the STEX?

    Here are some more pictures of a small city just north of Smallville called Kirkland City.  KC is a slightly larger city with about 1000 people and a small industrial area.  I figure I'd start on the outside with farms and small rural towns and work my in to the big city.  I hope everyone enjoys these pics of Kirkland City.

    Good job with this so far - nice use of Peg's ponds and SimGoober's irrigation canals! You said in your 1st post you wanted dirt roads for your farms - if you haven't worked out how you're going to do it yet, you might be interested in Trolca's Street Modd .

    I hope everyone enjoys these pics.  Kirkland city has about two thousand people, a little town with a few stores, a gas station for all trucks leaving the industrial area.  A train station is in behind the industrial buildings to better serve them and get that frieght out of there and off the roads.  But when the train comes close to the residential zone the train goes underground and comes back above after the road.
        Enjoy and lots more pics to come.

    Here are some new pics of a (going to be) very large city. Arbor Lake! Here there will be rich people with high education and great health.  Very well protected by police and the fire department.  The major here is very smart and knows exactly what the people need. Lots of high paying jobs, great education system, wide spread health care system.  Fast and easy excess to all these areas by massive highways and great rail systems.
    I hope everyone enjoys these pics.
    Here you can see a large portion of what I have worked on most recently.
    <ahttp://img190.echo.cx/img190/9614/arbourlakeoct21105261tw.jpg align=baseline>
    Here you can see train and street bridge croosing the river with the bridge modd that I down loaded today.  I think it looks alot better without the large humps from the original bridge layout.
    <ahttp://img190.echo.cx/img190/4248/arbourlakeoct21205271kc.jpg align=baseline>
    Here you can see the train track tunnel going under the street.  And here I have a medium sized park named Kelso Park.
    <ahttp://img190.echo.cx/img190/6851/arbourlakeoct21305265ak.jpg align=baseline>
    Marrast Concrete walls keep out the noise from the residential area.  The people of Arbor Lake are very happy with the Mayor and his style so far.  Just on the other side of the train tracks you can see a small industrial area getting ready to grow.
    <ahttp://img190.echo.cx/img190/1361/arbourlakeoct21405269yh.jpg align=baseline>
    More residential.
    <ahttp://img190.echo.cx/img190/1194/arbourlakeoct21505266zd.jpg align=baseline>
    Just on the south side of River Nelo the high tech industrial area is just begining to grow.  Next update you see anther large high tech building and than we'll move closer to the denser part of the city.
    <ahttp://img190.echo.cx/img190/1651/arbourlakeoct21605265sh.jpg align=baseline>

    I hope everyone enjoys and I am always looking for comments and ideas.
