I have a question that may have been asked before, but I'm confused and looking for some additional confirmation. Does the HSRP include a puzzle piece version of the network? I'm not real privvy to the eccentric behaviors of draggables and tend to prefer the fine-tuned nature of puzzle pieces because you can build things one little section at a time.

Making the whole network out of puzzle pieces, would almost double the amount of work, there shouldn't be any eccentric behaviour, what are you having trouble with?

The new version of the HSRp doesn't cateneries because at the time I didn't know how to add them in, but know I will release an update(sometime in the near future) that allows them to optional until the next main version

    Well, I don't have the HSRP yet. I'm asking before I hunt it down. I don't mind the amount of extra time invested into puzzle pieces. They make for a really fun brain teaser anyway cuz you're having to hunt through all the available pieces for that one you need, and you have to stop and think about where it all goes. It's fun to pick my own brain like that. ^^;

Ohh. I thought you meant it doubled the work for the user of the stuff. To be honest, I find it really difficult to wrap my head around the whole draggable concept. It's mildly confusing because you have to drag them in a very specific way, and that can get more confusing than just using puzzle pieces.

HSR and GHSR are wonderful! But... what kind of station should I use for this network? Do I just have to use the hub or the large station? Thanks.

    Hi Jacopox,

besides the 2 stations you mentioned..and i assume by large station you mean the new

large HSR station with the 75 K capacity ? I think it was released within the past week..on the

    stex..

There is Cogeco's Ghsr stations over at sim devotion.. but only for the ground hsr..

And than not sure you knew this ,but actually as far as i know any of the monorail stations

will accept HSR traffic.. although im not sure if the reverse is true,,i havent really tried it..

    anyways hope this helps..

Thank you very much Brian... yes, I meant the 75K station, and I tried to use the monorail station, but it changed high speed rail back in monorail, probably because of an old NAM installation... btw I didn't know the existance of Cogeco's GHSR station... thank you very much for your help!

if you mean the one that was redone by andreas and has multiple forms of transit lines,

that hub has a lot of problems and I understand their working on some fixes for it.. I took those

out of my city and replaced them with these..https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=20139

And ive been very happy with my city since i did it too,,

doesn't help, just gives the same problem

EDIT: found a solution, just need to put my puzzle pieces far enough away from the station

Aaah, it's the transit enabling bug that does this.

It happens on all lots that are transit enabled when hovering a puzzle piece over them, resulting in --> crash to desktop.

no, you just have to be careful with hovering puzzle pieces over transit enabled lots..

You will with more practice..But even besides this there  are still problems with the

high speed rail hub.. So i still recommend you use the large high speed rail stations

that were just recently put out on the stex..

its in this thread, if you want to read about it..

I've been searching for anything about tunnel entrances for HSR on the forums but havn't found anything. How does one make a tunnel HSR?

I've tried doing this: connected starter piece to HSR Hub, then dragged using the monorail tool either side of the tunnel entrance. It does make a tunnel but only with monorail. I continued with another starter piece and finnaly connected the end to another HSR Hub. However, it doesn't seem to be working as no sims are using it and no trains are coming out.

    Any ideas/tutorials?

that is the tunnel entrance...there isn't one for HSR. it should work. it is the same paths and trains...the HSR mod is basically a skin on top of the monorail...thus the reason that you must use the monorail tool to create the HSR. it could be that the hub isn't working...

I installed Xyloxadoria's HSR station pack and I still can't get any usage of my HSR. The route worked when it was monorail. Anyone else having this problem?

for me, the only problem is getting my sims to actually hop onto and of certain hubs. using tadasu's large station, i was able to get the sims moving through two large cities. however, they refuse to commute any further. i'm going to bulldoze some my hubs and replace them with xyloxadoria's new hsr station and see if that helps.

but if anyone can confirm sim unwillingness to use the hsr beyond a two-city commute, i'd be greatful. also, can anyone post possible factors that would promote sim usage of the hsr? frankly, i can't figure it out.

    thanks!

To wilson124 (all the way up there, post on 7/7/8), I have a mod that installs catenaries for HSR. See the picture. I found it in a stash of mods I hoarded long ago, called Shinkansen Netork Mod v1.1. I would love to upload this, but I have no idea where I got it from and more importantly who the creator is, cos the readme is in japanese (!). I added this mod into my plugins and voila! The catenaries all suddenly appear, the only contention being that the catenaries will look very very strange on GHSR.

Anyways, I am having the same problem as some ppl have; I install a network of hsr lines, wait and no one uses it!! Not even for intercity commute. Zip, zero zilch. FYI I tested the network by U-drive-it and I can run across the whole line without any breaks. So that means the network is perfectly continuous, which makes me continue wondering..

KUDOS to the creators of the new hsrp 4.gif It IS a significant improvement and I am very happy to demolish significant swaths of my cities and redevelop them for hsr to exist. Molto benne.

There was going to be catenaries in the next HSRP version, but unfortunately all development on the HSRP has stopped and this project has been placed on the backburner. I am now involved in developing the Single Track Rail for the RAM at SC4Devotion.com. You can see pictures of this project in the 3RR at SC4D and a bit here at ST. However there will be an update to the HSRP hub and HSRP in the next NAM release to fix a few bugs, included the no passengers issue. Sorry for the lack of development hopefully one day I can pick this prject back for good. Jonathan

    OMG.

I actually only just went to see the 3rr on sc4d. And by golly they are the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen wrt to sc4. So very organically beautiful.. and the new technology created like the FARR and the straight track is so revolutionary. HSRP can wait anytime. To everyone who hasnt already visited, go visit the 3rr forum on sc4d.. Trust me its rly niceeeeeeeee.

Good on ya warrior. but just wondering are u dedgren in sc4d? Confused

And btw Andreas I think youre really cool. One of the legends4.gif I'm just astounded at how long you all have lasted on sc4d and simtropolis. No disrespect meant, just from a stranger's perspective that its wonderful that 3 yrs I've been playing sc4 and you ppl are still around. keep up the good work!
