I don't know how you could overcome the problem. Maybe a ferry service in which the train sits on the ferry and then is connected to the mainline. Such as a track on the ferry that matches the line. Then it would work.

I'd prefer a state highway because it takes up less space

deathtopumpkins - I'll be completing it tonight... scheduled to post on Sunday...

cumodious - Points determine how much you can purchase or biuld at any given time. The more you biuld, the more points per month you recieve but beware as you also attain expenses and monthly premiums from what you biuld...

you join automatically the first time you post and you get 30 points by doing so. All you need to do is visit the website at the bottom of my sig and go to "Start Your Development" and then select a grid in which you'd like to start biulding on... copy the image, plot your development plans, host the image on photobucket or image shack and show us here...

    un1 - I hope you "whether" it out 2.gif

deathtopumpkins - Numbering schemes depends on who's biulding the road.. ..If it's biult as a Newark Road then Odd numbers go North/South, Even Numbers go East/West.. ..the Low Odd Numbers start on the East Coast and go to High numbers on the west.. ..(Hwy 5 is on the east, Hwy 95 will be on the west)... Even Numbers start low on the south and go high to the north (Hwy 2 is on the south coast and highway 98 will be at the very north..)... Houston Fan is apart of Tuckaway Transportation and if he decides to use their points to biuld the highway, it will be considered apart of the Newark Turnpike system.. ..then the route number would be up to him. .. 101 already exists as the Newark Bypass... I would only suggest making it 102 or 103...

chriss - In theory it always costs ALOT more to go underground than to go above it... but in this.. there is no price difference between GLR/EL/or Subway just to keep things simple..

Houston_Fan - As a Newark Road or Turnpike Enterprise System.. ...or your own road/shield?... ...If it's a Newark Road it wouldn't work because it doesn't fit within the numbering scheme. Best I could do is Highway 23 Toll or 125/325/525/725/925 Toll... If by the Newark Turnpike Enterprise or your own company / shield then you can choose whichever number you desire...

deion30296 - Erh that.. ..wouldn't... ...be a very good idea... trains and ferry's dont belong in the same picture if you get my drift.. ..but an EL will do just fine...

FreewayofFlight - As in non-access controlled?

    Northeastern connector sounds good.

Do you want me to make signs for it like Yoshiisland did for the other highways? I've made some for my region, though I'm not perfect with the scale yet.

Feel free to use my remaining points to help pay for it. (Or, rather, DTP Construction Corp. Newark's) It would greatly benefit my development. Are there any plans to connect it to the E/W Connector? Or how about the planned 504?

EDIT regarding N4C's post while I was typing:  Houston_Fan, are you using Tuckaway Transportation or are the three of us behind this going to form our own conglomerate company.

And I would pick 23 Toll of those choices if we were limited to them, as it sounds better since it's not really a spur of 25. And I can make us a shield if we choose for me to make custom highway signs.

And... I'll be looking forward to seeing it built sunday, N4C.

Houston_Fan- That's great. I agree with deathtopumpkins, 23 Toll sounds better than the alternates.

deathtopumpkins- If you need help with the signs feel free to PM me. I don't know how to BAT them, but I could help you design them and get them in the game.

Well it is halfway down the page (well, it will be when the page is full), but......

Wow. 50th page. 44.gif (there should be an applause smiley)

Actually, ferries and trains DO mix. There arre still many carfloat operations today. No, none of them involve mass transit, they're all freight, but still, when it would be too costly to build a bridge, railroads often turn to barges and tugboats. For example, Norfolk Southern and the Eastern Shore RR operate a carfloat between Norfolk and Cape Charles, VA to bypass the rail congestion in Baltimore. (I know too much 46.gif)

PMing you in a minute kj3400. Help is always appreciated.

N4C, could we get some shots of the tollway once constructed with locations for signs marked?

We can design and make them ourselves, but I just need to know what to put on them and what to make them look like.

deathtopumpkins: I was considering forming our own company for my toll road project. If the combined company does not have enough points, I would like a deal with Tuckaway Transportation that would allow them to have a stake in the project for a limited period of time.

So form a company exclusively for this project? OK. But what are we going to call it?

If we all pool together, we should have enough points for most of it. N4C appears to have started building it anyway, so I sure hope we do.

If you strike a deal with Tuckaway, then they would pay part of it, and what would they get in return?

And by the way, me and kj3400 are going to make signs for the tollway as soon as there are pictures of it up so we know what goes where.

deathtopumpkins: We would call the company the Newark-Lantia Mobility Group, or NLMG for short. In addition, if a deal is made with Tuckaway, a percentage (say 20%) of points made from our project would be given to Tuckaway for a unspecified (but limited) amount of time.

deathtopumpkins - Which is true and does well for freight purposes but for passenger purposes, I don't think an opperation like that could be performed fast enough to make it efficient for a LIGHT RAIL line... ...As far as signs, sure - I'll give you access to all the route number signs of Newark and I'll give you the format in which exit signs must be displayed in. I'll send you a PM regarding how to do them... If you can't afford it up front then it will just remain city property until you can. ...The Highway is actually already open for traffic, and yes.. they do use it... between 700 to 2,000 cars currently which is awsome for the city sizes the highway services. Also for the Exit 2 sign - make sure you put "To" beside Hwy 2 and NWTP 101...

    Houston_Fan - Keep me informed...

willg - You mean smaller islands? none of smaller islands have oil.. .most of the resources are found in the mountains

N4C: I admitted in my post it wouldn't work for light rail, no matter how cool it would be.

I added the TOs to the exit 2 sign, and that usage is pretty impressive considering it doesn't really even go anywhere.

Primarily for the signs I need those Newark heralds, as well as the NWTP one, and if all of us at the Newark-Lantia Mobility Group agree upon one, I'll make a herald for this highway.

I'm attaching an updated image of the signs.

    Thanks willg for the sign.

I hadn't gotten the PM yet, I've got all of the heralds now.

Can we have a custom herald for route 23? I made a cool one, but i can use the standard one if you wish.

OK, I found all the heralds on photobucket now, and am attaching another new copy of the signs. Then I'm going to start working on all of the signs based off your PM later today.

deathtopumpkins If you use a custom Herald and you / Houston Fan / KJ3400 are partnering to make a seperate corporation then you can number the route any number you desire as it is no longer apart of the Newark Grid / Road system...

As for the signs - The first sign, Make sure it says "To" for the E/W Connector - Hwy 4 (but not 25... those highways are accessed by Highway 25 but arnt directly interchanged via them) The E/W Connector Herald is too small... only resize to 50% and make sure you put Hwy 4 beside it.. and for the southbound lanes the interchange between 25 should be divided into A and B... A contains the Mainline into Highway 25 South...(to E/W Connector - Hwy 4, Auringy City, Millidgeville) B contains exits right to Hwy 25 North, Newark, Linaton, Turner Station.

The PM I sent you was how to access the photobucket account and the signing standards.

    Thanks for displaying the photo

I did resize the E/W Connector only 50%, but I'll replace it with one the same size as the Northeastern Connector herald so they match.

I'll take note of that. I've drawn signs for exit four, and southbound exit 3. I'll PM them to you so you can check them tonight. I'll be out most of the evening. I'm working from North to South.

    The shortcut works now.

I can't send you the signs. Whenever I try to post an image from photobucket it shows up in the message editor, but in the actual post just shows up as a dot.

When I try to attach a JPEG, I get a message saying that I can't upload that file type. It won't accept bitmaps either.

Will you get them if I send them to the CJ email?
