I've been fooling around with this building for a several hours now. It's in Sketchup, not the BAT. Does anyone like it? I kind of feel like it's going nowhere really. Positive/negative feedback is welcome.

The building looks great!  Now the trick would be getting it into bat. 3.gif
As for the picture, I can only see a 1by 1px dot (using ie7, that is).  To solve this, use jpgs or manually specify the size (click the image icon and use that).

Yeah, why wouldn't you continue with it, it looks great so far. Not sure about the horizontal black trellis near the bottom floor, but that's the only thing that stands out so far. Get some reference photos of skyscrapers and see what you can add as far as details go. Keep it up!

I changed the base a little and added texture to the vertical spaces on the sides. I'm really at a loss of what to do with the base. Any suggestions?

I think you could add some kind of white/light grey edging on some parts of it, to finish it off, and make it less plain.  I'd also work on more detailed window frames, since in real life, window frames aren't really like that.  There are variations in the thicknesses of the mullions, for example.

Great start, I see you are using Sketchup. Are you using Google Sketchup or Sketchup Pro?

By they way I adjusted the pix sizes manually so IE users can see them now.

It's easy to export to BAT if you have the professional version of sketchup.

    Follow these steps:

    - First turn your faces onto monochrome.  Make sure NO OUTWARD FACES ARE BLUE.  If many are, select a face and use "orient all."  Or reverse the faces individually if there aren't that many

    - Go To export 3d

    - Select .3ds filetype

    - click options

    - Export stand alone edges should be UNCHECKED, or else the lines you see at edges will carry into 3ds/Gmax.

    - Check export texture maps (unless you plan on retexturing in gmax

    - Make sure preserve texture coordinates is checked so everything is lined up and in place

    - Leave everything else unchecked

    Click export

    Import .3ds in Gmax

Thanks for the suggestions and tips and stuff guys. However I think that building is scrapped. I just didn't like where it was going, maybe I'll be coming back to it one day. For now this thing has been eating all my time...

It's partially inspired by the Sears Tower and the Burj Dubai. I think it's 113 floors and about 1778' feet i think. What do ya think?
