    Thanks everyone!

I hate to leave the page blank so here is a quick update.

I decided to sink the elevated highway and undertake some major reconstruction.

    03-01:

03-02 ~ This is how an area downtown turned out:

I have to go to work right now and I'll try to post some more pics of the highway later in the day.

I hope you all like the new highway so far!

Zoomed out the city looks pretty average, but once you do those close ups those pics come alive!

    Thanks guys!

OK here is the rest of the update. The the reconstruction of the highway boosted the city's population by 10,000. So far I ran off over 200 sim years demolishing and making the buildings I want to keep historical. Things are developing very well with-out any neighboring cities yet. I think the super demand mod really helps me out in this regard. Current population is now 62,000.

Here is how the city of Acropolis is shaping up.

    03-03:

    Acr03-03.jpg

03-04 ~ A night time shot showing a commute for single high rise in downtown Acropolis:

    03-05 ~ Downtown high-rises surround the highway:

    Acr03-04.jpg

    03-06 ~ Some high-rise apartments:

    Acr03-05.jpg

03-07 ~ Townhouses become more frequent as we move away from the city center:

    Acr03-06.jpg

    03-08:

Now all I need is some more traffic! Hope you enjoyed the latest update and thanks to all the regulars for your continued interest and support!

    Time for another update.

    Acropolis Highway Beautification Project

As part of the project new lamp-posts and greens were added along the sunken highways and trash was removed. To pay for the project billboards were placed along the highway and ad space was sold with all profits going to pay for it.

Progress is going well as we can see in the following photos.

03-09 ~ Diagonal fences along with trees & shrubs were added, trash was removed:

    03-10:

    acr03-10.jpg

03-11 ~ Billboards added for revenue:

    acr03-11.jpg

03-12 ~ Accentt lighting was also added to the dark and dank archways:

    acr03-12.jpg

    03-13:

    03-14:

    More to come.........

I would like to but I would need help getting them ready for the STEX. I can't run I-live anymore so the lots need to be cleaned up for ease of use. What's great about the diagonals is they face the road so you can run any terrain mod and not worry about jagged edges occurring.

I was thinking of releasing an initial pack then adding more accent lots later.

The whole area is very nicely laid out, with a fantastic variety of buildings and transportation networks. I'm guessing quiet a few of the buildings are growable. If so, you sure have that technique down beautifully.

releasing those would be cool no matter how you did it. As for I live reader I don't even have it installed anymore, could never figure it out. Not real good with most of this stuff, I use the LE to make a few lots or fix other peoples lots to suit my cities, beyond that I am lost.

    Great City and great work

In The first few pages how did you get the elevated rail to go at the same level with the roads even when the elevated rail was beside the roads?

Great city! The sunken highway is great!

Great work on the highways with all those houses but what I really appreciate are your industrials. Busy, buzzling, dense areas of productivity - I can almost hear the machine working ... just Great!

As most people focussed on the (boring ...) I-HT I am always glad if someone takes care of the dirty industrial - and this is a masterpiece!

Take care (and don't forget to make backups!)
