Is there a maximum amount of downloads that my sim city will take before it slows or crashes, i have quite a bit but still need so much more??

That really depends on what kind of computer you have.

I think your computer can answer that better than we can. To start with we have no idea what computer you have, or what it is capable of.

    Well, I have 1.5 gigs in my documents/simcity4/plugins dir,barely anything in the windows sc4 dir, an old xp2500+ with 1.5 gig ram,an old g-force fx 5200 card and have my virtual mem set at 5631 meg (multi hdds) and use dat packer so I havent hit the bsod or crash to desktop with cities in excess of 100k...but It is slower!

    For us even to guess at this we need to know:

    CPU speed

    RAM size

    Virtual memory settings

    Size of current plugin folder

    The quick way to look at this is Game+Plugins should be less than RAM - 256MB + Virtual memory maximum.  If you exceed this, you will probably either crash or get paged to death.
