Those no job-zones are really a pain in the ass and can ruin a good game but how can them be prevented? What should i think about when i start a new city so that i don't get them?

And if/when i get them, how can they disappear?

You can turn zots off my ctrl x and then tastyzots and then enter. That doesn't get rid of the abandonment problem though. That's about as much help as I can give you for that, just make sure there's plenty of transportation, and buisnesses, which the STEX can help out with some of the buildings to get rid of that.

Make sure you have enough jobs for your sims in your city. If you don't, you should have various ways of letting them easily get out of the city to work in another city.

City planning, that's the job of the mayor.  2.gif

Plan ahead for the transit networks, and don't rely on one or two transit types.  It helps to have neighboring cities for the sims to work in.  They will travel to a distant city, when they could just as easily cross the road to work.  Maybe to get away from a nagging wife, or screaming kids, who knows.  6.gif

The bottom line is you will get the zots, off and on, if you are developing the city.  If you have provided jobs, and transportation, they will usually go away eventually.
