Reward availability

I have reach all requirements listed for some rewards, one being the university. Yet, they are still unavailable, could this be a bug? or is there something I am missing.

My population is 350,000+ lots of com and HT-Ind. 10+ cities some with a university.

Anyone else have this issue?

I get the the rewards with the U-Drive-It missions, so I am not sure about getting it with just population, or education level. You can also get it with the "I don't deserve it" cheat.

Most rewards, and I don't know if the "U" is one of them, will only be available through the UDI missions, or the cheat I mentioned.

Also if you have the auto remind feature off (which i do, i dont like the people popping up with messages), you have to use the recent messages at the bottom of the screen in mayor mode. There will be somthing about a university. Click on it and accept the offer. It it like that with some rewards, i'm not sure about the university though

Thanks for your help guys. I haven't cheated yet it SC and don't think I am going to start now. I will try a few U Drive it missions but in other cities the University it is available and I did not have to do any.

I may resort to that mod later if all else fails.

I've had this happen a few times. Particularly with the Grand railway station. Sometimes saving, then reloading the city can help. That seemed to sort out the university.

I can't stand the UDI missions, they always break the game.

Remember, even if you use the "you don't reserve it" cheat, you can still wait until you have the requirements before using the rewards, so it's not really cheating. Also, use of the cheat does not carry over after a game restart, so you can put the cheat in, plop the uni, save, and restart. Then the other rewards will still be locked.

Is it "reserve" or "deserve"? anyway, I just may use this because nothing is working and the grand rail station is also one of the rewards not available when it should be.

Edit:  If you don't already know.  To get the cheat popup, press ctrl and the X keys at the same time.

The word is, deserve. This is the syntax:

"I don't deserve it"

Press the enter key.
