Welcome to my second city journal! My first was at SCC, and totally bombed. My new city journal is an unique approach to journaling. Instead of following one city in SC4, I will be showcasing some pictures from SC4, but also from my own sketches, doodles, and pixel-art. I will only showcase one picture per update, and then explain it. This is the first update. TopCliff

granto93: Thanks a lot! Yeah, I do a lot more sketching and Paint than SC4 now because my laptop is soooooo slow. It took a long time to draw that, and I really like the results. I wish I did a better job on the bridge, though. TopCliff

Schulmanator: Yes, people have told me that. No rulers, straight-edges, or anything that creates a straight line was used.

Amerikaner: I just wrote Archco because of all the arches on the building. I modelled it after Times Square too!

Everyone: Updates may be erratic: two or three a day or maybe once a week. I give full permission to bump if you have something constructive to say. TopCliff

    Cleaner: Thanks.

Like I said in the first post, I might update twice or even three times in one day. Well, heres my second update. It's pixel-art, I already know it looks cartoony, and it's supposed to be based off of Portland, Oregon.

    mountaincity1dg7.png

I only used the original Paint colors because this was one of my first experiments in this genre. You might be able to notice certain STEX items, like dmscopio's Shanghai Financial Center and a building based off DT's Montauk Gas building. I would go back and redo it, but I'm busy working on some other updates for tomorrow. TopCliff

Only one pic because I want the chance to fully explain the picture and give it its true definition so that the general public knows what I was thinking when I created said picture. Also, thanks for commenting, a big-shot CJer like you! TopCliff

Sorry for the double post, but I have today's first update ready. Replies:

Amerikaner: Thanks for coming! Yeah, Archco may be run by Dr. Vu now, I don't know . . .

    Onward to the update!

    desertbridgenr9.png

Again, original colors. This was originally just the bridge in the desert, but I added all the sci-fi stuff like the alien ships and the super destructive lightning generator thingy. I really like the bridge, truly some of my best work there. The rest is okay in my eyes. What do you guys think? TopCliff

Cleaner: Thanks a lot. Maybe there should be a seperate forum for "cool" stuff like this!

    prisonwizard: Thanks for stopping by!

Manman99: It is different. I'm different. Oh God, the government's on to my "difference"!

Jacky: It really says a lot to me for someone with such a high stature as yours stopping by my meek and "different" CJ.

All: I'm actually busy with my architecture game right now, so the next update will be tomorrow instead. Trust me, it will be worth the wait . . . TopCliff

Is it? IT IS!!! Update time! Another pixel-art, still cartoony, but my Art teacher gave me an A+ on it!

    pixelarttworn4.png

I really like what I did with the skyscrapers, but the ravaged section seems a bit off to me. At first, I tried to do an earthquake-type thing, but then I wanted to try a metropolis. I like the graffiti in the subway, and the water going down the stairs. Do you think I should redo this, or leave it the way it is? TopCliff

first of all - great drwaing once again you are very very skilled at this

secondly I think you should keep the pic as eithr a megapolis or a earthquake scene or merged the two things togther insdtead of having one on one side and the other on the other side. I wouldn't redo it just edit the earthquake bit look like a megapolis disaster or something like that.

    Good work - Topcliff,

    Richard

Cleaner: Thanks for replying! I might try that megalopolis thing. Once more, thanks!

Everyone else: I have a "special" update for tomorrow where you actually help create the art! Sounds fun, don't it? TopCliff

All right, it's that special update I promised! I would have done it sooner, but I had ot leave for a funeral in SoCal, and I had to drive down. Here it is!
    izometricbyryanug5.png
It's a work in progress, and certainly an improvement: it's 3-D! I need some help coming up with the rest of it because I can't really tell whether it's American or European. Also, one of my ideas was that I could make it a waterfront area and then add a bridge which would be really hard to make pixel-by-pixel. I really like the highway signs, though. What do you guys think? TopCliff

    Flame: Thanks a lot, dude!

Cleaner: Thanks! I'm still thinking of ideas for that, though.

IDS2: Yes, I think it's American too because of the roads and whatnot.

Jhrnemo: Uh thank ya', thank ya' very much . . .

BlondeTwiggy: Yes, I do think I'm a good artist. Be humble, dammit!

Everyone: I may or may not have an update today. TopCliff
