it does look like they already have a tonne of buildings at their disposal, i mean if you look at the screens  especially  the city ones they have a lot of sky scrapers so they mut have quite a few others too.

however i dont know if that will make me get it over a possible MC  game

i jusat hope MC dont go with their standard identikit  cities because that will definantly kill it

its not that i liek the candy cane stuff or all that stupid childish un realistic rubbish. its just that i feel that most people are just jumping on the band wagon and knocking it because it just 'is' thats why i felt i had to write that, because well tilted mills have done a decent job, just they went about it the wrong way.

i didnt see that many, and honestly it dosent defend scs, they could have alot of buildings but many looked badly detailed, and if transportation is bad, or gameplay stinks, then it's not going to matter how many buildings there are, there is honestly no good defence for the game that can't get beat by offence.15.gif we have to face the truth, it's coming out this holiday season and there's little chance that graphics, gameplay, or anything will be better or added, they taken away so much, it would be very hard, next to impossible to pull off something big enough, good enough to make fans want to by it

I haven't seen anything concerning transportation. It seems like it's a non-issue. Roads are merely roads, they don't have much significance.

No offense to anyone but you havn't nothing to say what EA or TM does or doesn't do.Yes you are a consumer and Yes you love SimCity but I doubt anyone here is a major stockholder of either company.

The days of large caring about the consumer are almost dead and it all boils down to  the bottom line.

Remember easy to use products are a big seller. The world will be a better place when Paris Hilton gets out of jail.

Acutally, bluebeard, the days of carrying about the consumer aren't almost dead, if people don't like their products, especially video games, they won't buy it. Duh

To defend scs, it is a new branch of the franchise, a new direction, if people don't like it, they can always return to the orignal style.

I wouldn't call it jumping on the bandwagon, when something sucks and many agree.

Or maybe they conclude that SimCity doesn't sell more, and that was the last SimCity game we ever saw

That's what my Number 1 fear would be, that they say "Oh, Sim City, no one is interested in it anymore, we don't need to do anything else with it."

Maybe, just a theory, that is why they are making SimCity like this, they are trying to kill off the SimCity brand.

It's possible, but I hope not.

I hope EA is not that stupid.

Why would they want to let a popular game die out? There's no reason for doing that as long as it is generating money. No, EA just took a big misstep.

At first, I thought SCS concept is a little bit weird. But then again, I think it is good for anyone to try something new and therefore I am eager to give this new SC a try.

There is a potential for this game to suck hard, but on the other hand there is also a potential that this game will be enjoyable despite its difference from the good old Sim City.

the way i see it is right now, as bad as SCS is, if MC have only say 3 buildings for each class i know i wont be buying MC's game. unless that is if MC make it fully modable and a lot of custom content is created for it otherwise its a big no. Im sorry but i dont see how you can create a city where every building is the same its a bit stupid imo.

I highly doubt that.  Why would EA deliberately sabotage one of their most successful and valuable properties?  If they really wanted to end the SimCity brand, all they'd have to do is stop making games under the SimCity name.

If SimCity: Societies turns out to be disappointing in terms of sales (and the game being a commercial flop is by no means a certainty), it will simply be due to poor judgment and execution on the part of EA and/or Tilted Mill.  There's no reason to believe it would be due to anything other than that.

Even scarier is if this game does well and every Simcity forth plays like SCS.
