TV Adverts (Commercials)

Now I think it has to be agreed there are a few awesome adverts out there for example the Skoda Fabia Cake Adverts, Sony Bravia Paint Adverts, Honda Knock-Over Adverts and the Honda Chorus Adverts. Which I thought were amazing because all three were real and done without CGI which, in this age of computer graphics, I think is very admirable. The Carlton Draught "Big Ad" was also very admirable for being able to take the mick out of itself, which is vitally important. Adverts that make you think are also very good such as the Orange NY Blackout Advert which is shown in the cinema to tell people, politely, to switch their phone off. And I wouldn't be writing about good adverts if I hadn't mentioned some Guinness ones like the Guinness Rythmn of Life Advert, Guinness Tick Follows Tock Advert, Guinness Hands Advert

Some of the worst adverts, and the most annoying, are the ones where the company tries to use it's "customers" in the advert such as the Sensodyne Customer Adverts when they are so obviously actors. Adverts where the celebrities endorsing the product have so obviously got their skin from plastic surgery and not from whatever crap they are peddling eg Andie McDowell L'Oreal Advert, Jane Fonda L'Oreal Advert, Scarlet Johannson L'Oreal Advert. Probably the worst culprits are really, really bad lip-syncing where an advert has been filmed then lip-synced in one language then lip-synced again in English. The best example is the Touch n' Fresh Advert where the kid talks without moving his mouth. Last but certainly not least are those insanely stupid loan, endowment and debt relief adverts commonly found during mid-morning for example Claim4Endowment Adverts, Debt Free Direct Adverts and the badly-made Ocean Finance Lawn Adverts and of course not forgetting the Carol Vordaman FirstPlus Adverts

Some of my favorite adverts

nearly
single Honda one (Asimo is just too adorable, I love him).

The Sony Bravia adverts are also really good, but I especially like this one (all those balls are real, not CGI like I once thought - the music is beautiful too).

This Coca Cola one is also very clever, a great parody of GTA, as is this one.

The P&O cruises adverts are great also.

I do love the Lloyd TSB ones too.

Love this to bits. So clever. Music is lovely too..

As for games, I think that these EVE-Online trailers are simply amazing. Absolutely packed with atmosphere.

The Sim City 4

is also really great, very good CGI - if only we had a game with graphics like that 3.gif

The Earth and Beyond trailer is good too, shame the game didn't last for long =|

This advert I both dislike and like at the same time; I like it because of the song (Frank Sinatra), and I hate it because of what they have done to the song.

Same with this one. Love the original song (Think), hate what they did to it. Actually, I don't like any Halifax adverts.

As for the ones that I hate, I pretty much agree with Adam on those loan ones. Also, this makes me want to scream everytime I hear it. Shut up woman! Arh! There is another obnoxious advert made by the same company, that is just as bad. Be thankfull I can't find it.

This one makes me want to SCREAM too because I hate it so much. It's so pointless, and the voices irritate me to no end.

I just realised that there are far too many adverts that I like and dislike, so I'll leave it there.

Some very interesting links there GingerBlokey!

Advertising is something that really interests me, and I hope to pursue it as a career in a few years time, so naturally, I love TV adverts 3.gif.

While I agree with you, there are some really really annoying adverts out there (The singing Halifax dude, all the insurance ads etc), I also think their are some real gems!

I too enjoy the Sony Bravia adverts, although I prefer the

This advert, which is surprisingly good considering the company who commissioned it

I also love all the Apple adverts 9.gif.

really clever ad. Random iPod "Silhouette" ad, I love the song in this one too. And to finish off, "There;s never been an iPod..."

Some really good commercials.

This is and Australian commercial for the Yellow Pages. See for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2akt3P8ltLM.

This Ad is also good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_E4IxpnOirY, A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI3XEhRkAL8, and there are those annoying ads that mean nothing, and just waste good tv time.

That's all i've got lol

Absolutely the worst are Bell Canada's ads with the two Beavers.

Best ad ever: The Molson Rant.
