You can "play around" with the bit map file on the config (from what I remember) in the folder about Regions (I think it's MyDocuments/Simcity/Regions). Try to "color" everything in the file blue using Paint.

Hmm... having an entire region as 1 city is a new idea. I've never tried it before...

No. You must connect the tiles together with roads, streets and other transportation options to make an entire region sized city.

just think of the ram you would need. Wow.

The best you can do is have a city of all large tiles. If you grow slow and plan it can take days to fill just one large tile (or about 15 minutes with little planning). Perhaps in the next version of simcity we will have an area large enough for just about any city (and to think I though sc2000 had a huge map 18.gif ).

It's gonna be INSANE!!! if u wanna do this get the most powerful mac, the most powerful mac I heard of had like 16GB ram, 5 Graphics card, and 8Dual core processors, but the downside its cost so much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

You don't need a mac to get that much ram. You just need an os other than XP (as boards are out that support up to 32gb of ram). Although that much ram is going to cost a lot be it mac or pc.

I don't really think that is possible. But you could just do every tile as very large, starting in the middle and then branching out. A lot like real cities.

Ok first there is no mac with all that not any computer i know of. yes it would be hard on the normal computer to run that, but why have a city that big? A factor in Sim City is to connect the cities with deals and such. Also there is computers that will handle that, for about 1/2 thousand or more you can easily get a computer with the power needed.

To run a city the size of a default region (1025 x 1025) you have to remember that the simulator will need processor exponentially.  If you run a regular large tile (256 x 256) acceptably, you might find that as you grew to, say 384 x 384, or 128 grids each way more, you could easily find you needed 8 CPUs.  Life could get very interesting, indeed, even if you had a really big main frame.
