Highest Populations

I checked the top few pages and noticed no thread for posting high populations.

Of course, it's all fine and dandy to say you have a city with 1 million people, but some people fancy playing certain size cities. Post your top populations by square size.

Region: 743,201

Small: 137,261

Medium: 327,445

Large: 50,300

(I don't much like playing large squares)

I hardly play with small city squares, except to build regional airports or industrial complexes. They just seem too unrealistic to me for making population centers.

I love medium city squares, but not large city tiles. However, I'm currently looking to fit 800,000 sims in a large city tile.

Large: 2,450,000 (still growing! Also contains water bodies and a large airport)

Medium: 430,000 (Nearly 100% residential)

There is of course no reason to doubt any of these figures, and we all are justifiably proud of the hard work we put into each region and city. But, to keep it real, why not use the Census repository https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=3568, and add a screenshot of its findings with your report. There is an update by Ripplejet that includes even more, demand keys, which are useful in making your cities even bigger.

That was my first region and I was mostly experimenting. It actually ended up that I built my cities from West to East and so my biggest city is right on the eastern edge of the region.

Small tile: 200.000 (I think..... I never play with small tiles though)

Large: 1.406.000 (BUT: 50% of the city is water and another 20% is commercial zoning..... So, 30% residential only.... And it still grew before the loss!)

Here's the picture of the large tile. Notice the water and the commerces. It has 1,4 million+ but I can't prove it. If you want believe it.

About 1.2 million on large (this was with cheating btw ),

about 200k on medium,

and about 26k on small.

Here's a medium city with around 960000 people.

In my region, largest large tile has only 300k (b/c they're all suburbs of the main city.)

Largest small tile is 126k.

Region pop: 15 million.
