I now have a PC and am running SimCity 3000 Unlimited. It's a 2001 Compaq Presario and...except...I have no Internet Access (I'm running from my Mac) or SimCity 4 (as my Mac version has no PC version). So, is it possible to run BAT without SimCity 4? But, I don't know how to get the BAT, though I will soon release my first STEX upload...a ploppable grass that looks like its grassy cohorts that gives an insane amount of money to you monthly (and no one has to know....). So, I'd like some information on BATing without SimCity 4 or net access! I'm heading to the Omnibus!

I don't know if you need SC4 to put in the BAT or not.  But you will need the internet to download the programs (I don't know if you need the internet to install them, but you might, idk).  You'll also want the internet for reference photos, and for finding textures, and doing a lot of other things.  I think it would be better to work on trying to get the internet to work, instead of trying to get the other stuff to work without it.

For your money lot, there are already a lot of those on the STEX, so only upload it if you think it offers something that the other lots don't.

You need Sc4 to install BAT.

To download the BAT you will be have to be product registered at simcity.com. Meaning that you will need SC4 installed on your computer.

Actually, BAT is free anywhere to anyone who wants it. EA has told me directly that the only restriction is that you're not allowed to make money from it.

That said, yes, SC4 has to be installed on your Windows computer to use BAT.

Well, I still have to get SimCity 4, which should still be sitting on the Wal-Mart shelf for $20. Last week I remember harrassing a girl to get the game just so she could have access to NAM and the STEX. But given the computer is 2001-era, SC4 might not run great.

Also, doesn't BAT need some 3D program?

- Don't harass people.  It's unwelcome and creepy.

- You don't need to play SC4 on the PC, you just need it to get the other programs on it right, and to do basic testing with.  Beyond that, you can send the files to your other computer.

- The BAT is a gamepack for Gmax.  Gmax is a 3D program.
