When i plug in my downloaded region and config files, and my region renders in the game, the city sizes are the same as they were before.

You put the config file into the region folder after the region was created, right?

The config file must be present before the region is rendered.  Doesn't help if you put it in afterwareds.  To get it to do something, save it elsewhere, use windows explorer to delete your region's contents, put the config file back and re-open the region.

If you have developed cities, you'll have to devise a strategy to get them out.

    It still doesn't work, ok...

    1 I make a new region

2 I download the map and config and put them in a folder that i make in my regions folder

3 I go into the game andin my region hit: shift, alt, control, and r

4 I select the map in the folder and hit OK

5 It renders, but the city sizes havn't changed

Don't you also need a standard region.ini file present in the folder in order for SC4 to load the config present in that folder?

Remake a config maybe the colour isnt right for sc4 to read ,use irfanview or similar to make a new config.bmp , region ini is in every region file , thats not the problem tho ,i dont think .Your lucky the map is the same size as a default sc4 region or it just wouldnt do anything .

If he makes a brand new folder in Explorer, it won't have a region.ini file. That's only created when a region is made from within the game.

Here's a suggestion: Look at the comments on the map download and see if anyone else has had the same problems as you.

    I tried both suggestions, nothing.

And this isn't just one map, every map i download with an all blue config file don't work.

Am i puting it in the right spot? Do I need to open the config in game with the region? Somthing else? Also, I have a Mac, is that it?

What size is your map as in W x H in pixels ?

Make a new region in game , with whatever name , exit game

    goto my docs/sc4/regions/whatevername

open the folder , delete the config file.

place both the new map and config in the whatevername folder

    restart game

    ctrl ,alt.shift, r

navigate to map , render map , exit game , delete or move the image you used to render the map ,

When I create a new region in the game, it never shows up in the regions folder. The only files i have in there are the default regions... I can create a new folder from inside the Regions file, but it is just empty: no config

So, where are you looking?  The working game is not in Program Files.  The regions folder there is the recovery for the standard regions.

Your regions should be in (My) Documents\SimCity 4\Regions
