The thing at the bottom of each post that says IP: Recorded records the IP of every post.

Good ideas, but I do want to say that I already look for and enforce your first two ideas. Blank posts are somethinig you don't want me to find. I'll shed light on your deepest darkest secret by editing your post. I have done this for a long time and if you don't like it then don't leave a blank post around.

Racism is something that doesn't belong anywhere. I have yet to see any of this though.

Any user name that is found to be offensive, either by the staff or a member reporting it, will be deleted and the member notified to re-sign up with a nicer name. If you see one you don't like let us know. We are here to help.

As far as username duplication/hacking, if you suspect that you have been hacked contact us and we will look into it. We have ways of identifying accounts.

Let me say also that if you want to say something, but aren't sure if you should then leave it to yourself. It's not so hard. Show some respect and you may get some in return.

I wonder if people would actually do these things if there weren't rules telling them not to?  Where is the satisfaction of posting ALL IN CAPS, and overusing s if there is no rule telling you not to? ;-) I think that it is partly psychological - i use a few forums with no rules and, i think, no moderators and anarchy and disorder has never boken loose - people just 'behave', although i am sure that most people will agree that it would be (mostly) hard to function on this site without rules and moderators ;-)

Off topic, but something which people should try not to do (in life, not just on this forum) is write 'their' instead of 'they're'.  It looks really, well stupid, to say,eg. my friends think their beautiful instead of they are/they're.

Okay Dirk: This is my first time actually adressing you, somewhat personally.

I have spent the last 2 days perusing rules and forum etiquette, here at ST. I agree with you on all counts. EVERYONE should read these thoroughly and understand there content.

But I must say; there are some, that are enforcing these rules too harshley and most of all, without politeness.

 

If you must say a negative; Always follow a negative with a positive. Psych 101.

EDIT: Did I say all that? Now that I look back at this; I find it harsh and cruel of me. Aronian is no longer around, but I feel I have went overboard above and have decided to edit out the garbage.

 

I apologize for showing my anger, Aronion, Dirk. I am overjoyed at the changes that have occurred at Simtropolis over the past 6 months! The community is becoming fair minded and patient. The moderators are doing fantastic work! New members are constantly commenting on the friendly welcomes they recieve. Sitizens are really helping and sticking with the problems others are having, to see them solved.
