I'm thinking of creating an interactive CJ...

First I'll state that I've watched the CJ section for quite some time and I'm quite impressed with the work posted there. However I would like to take things a step further and make an interactive CJ... I've a few ideas but first I'd like to know your oppinions on them...

I'm going to list them in options ranging from mild to extreme... ...mild being the most simplistic and light - easy version... and extreme being the most complex yet most interesting and rewarding version...


#1 Mild - I biuld a region and start the town based on a timeline (this isn't going to just grow into a metropolis within a week, rome wasn't biult in a day - I want to start very small and work up.) Visitors of the C.J. can view and make suggestions toward development and improvements as if they were citizens of said city and will council a vote towards where each landmark will be placed based on its attribute factor (I.E. you would vote a Coal Powerplant to be biult as far away from your home as possible, but you would want a library close to your chamber of commerce as it will be easily accessable by everyone...)

#2 Moderate - I biuld a region like stated above and this time I perform a random drawing of 5 members who read the CJ... They 5 winners will be added to the Region as SIMS at the available locations of their choosing (You're not going to come in and win the lottery - boom move to the rich side of town... work your way up...)...They can choose between a poor and middle class income level and decide where they wish to work within the region ... Their statuses will be updated within a weekly basis and reported to the member, in which the member can choose whether he'd like to write a tale / make a comic about their daily life in the region or if he'd rather me post their happenings...

#3 Extreme - 5 Members will be voted upon and agreed to download and share one region, each member will share a parcel of land (city tile) and can purchase more land (city tiles) as suburban sprawl occurs and based on a rating system I'll soon figure out. We will then on a weekly basis combine our cities into the most current region and post our C.J. ...Also each member will need to have atleast one Sim who lives in their quarter of town who will be the one making the daily lifestyle and commuting in the city / region and will be the persona under whom which tales the tell in the CJ... ...Comics prefered but not mandatory... this way it will keep a constant flowing story as the city expands aswell... ..The only rule under extreme is all transportation networks and utilities must be agreed upon before crossing borders into the next city... We will decide upon the most efficient way of allowing neighbor connections...

Wonderful idea you have there. I like the moderate suggestion myself. Sounds kind of cool that you could log on to see how you are doing.

Keep me posted on a start date. I would like to follow this if it comes about.

I love CJs with more then one member working on them...u see differences in styles and changes even in the environment...

Well the idea was that we would create an Instant messaging system via Yahoo / Aim / or MSN and from there we would create a weekly deadline in which everyone will submit their parcels to everyone... this way EVERYONE will have the most up to date version of everyone's city each week so the traffic simulator / RCI demand will be up to date and I will post the most up to date region in the journal... However there's absolutely no problem with updating on each members CITY before the deadline as a "side CJ" as it's relative to the main one. The main and largest one containing all the members city tiles will however be collected by all me or a vice president, put together in the region puzzle, a CJ will be compiled and posted by the weekly deadline... If for any reason a member can't send his city tile by the deadline then he / she should notify me in advanced and send me or any member his city before the deadline. Perhaps we'll use a file sharing space to accomidate this... A member could then just upload his city on the file sharing space whenever he/she updates it and it can be retrieved by other members for the most up to date RCI Values / Traffic...

Also - I'm now generating ideas for the city itself...

It will be located off of a Southern Gulf on a slab of land just barely south of a range of mountains... I'm going to edit this message later to attach a photo of the region as it stands in its Alpha version and any ideas for correction would be eagerly accepted...

Now to the history...  Cities don't just appear out of nowere for no reason, they exist because they're apart of an economic trade system but each city has it's own special trade and this city will be like any other... It must develope a reason whether it served as a convinient major Seaport to distribute goods throughout the country, or to be found as a manufactoring harbor serving cheap labor and an easy work force, or to be founded in present date as oil companies desperate pleas to search for oil led them to find oil in the mountains... Any other ideas will be accepted aswell... give me some oppinoions!
