This region is gorgeous. Reminds me a bit of that part of Southern Ontario between Toronto and Ottawa that I like to call cottage country. Lots of nice, quaint little towns around there.

Can't wait to see more villages!

Hate to double-post, but where did you get those small town style downtown commercial buildings?

Note: I mean where on the STEX. If someone posts and says "on the STEX" that is not helpful.

Schulmanator  ~ Thanks.  I'm really having fun doing this.  This is the first CJ I've done with this much rural.  I am planning on making a larger city off in the distance from River Meadows.

edmonton_stinks ~ Thanks.  I got the buildings from the BEX.  It can been found at BEX.  There are a lot of BAT's, Lots, and Modds there that can't be found on the STEX.

edmonton_stinks: I'm from the Kawartha region, and I know exactly what you mean. Reminds me of home. 4.gif

And on that note, Big Z, if I was you, I'd build a larger town somewhere near one edge of the map, of maybe 50-60,000. Probably a spread-out, very green town, but I find that most regions like this in real life tend to have small cities anchoring them, usually acting as a sort of gateway to the region. Of course, it's your CJ, so do what you like, just a thought.

Well, it definitely has been a long time.  So sorry for the wait.  I got busy, then bought a new computer.  I've been recently back at building Riverton.  Here are some random pictures from the region, and an updated region picture.

This is in River Bend.  I'm rather proud of myself.  All the time I've played this game, and I'm finally figuring out how to get the transit to work right. lol

Something bad happened...What caused it?  What damage did it do?  Is Bald Mountain becoming more active?

Oops, I forgot to add the region picture!  I hope you like it, and that it gives you some excitement for the next update!

Thanks everyone.  I hope to have an update sometime soon.  I don't want it to go another long time before updating.  I'm also getting some good ideas for the rest of the region.  I mean, after all this is only about 1/4 of the region. hehe...

    Update #6

It was a rather calm day, like any other day in Riverton, when rumbling was heard from the ground.  Without warning, a huge plume of dust, rock and magma shot into the air above Bald Mountain.  People were forced to evacuate homes, and the railroad was closed.

    BaldMountainErupts2.jpg

After several hours of eruption, the mountain returned to its once quiet selfThough many were puzzled at the sudden eruption.   There were no warning signs.  There was no earthquakes to proceed the eruption.  What had caused this slumbering giant to awake so violently?

The national government was intrigued as well, and decided to found a base in River Meadows, and thus sent a team of Volcanologists to Bald Mountain to investigate.  Finally, after many months of investigation, and testing, the team of experts have unanimously decided the the building of a road and railway that now connect River Meadows with the up and coming town of Lake Ridge had caused stress to the ground, causing it to weaken further down toward the mountain.

The residents of both communities are remaining alert and vigilant.  Wondering what surprise their now restless neighbor has in store for them.

    * * * * * *

The new town of Lake Ridge has been formed, and has quickly become the center of commerce throughout the region.  Though, its neighbor across the river delta, Lakeview, is giving Lake Ridge a run for its money.  Lakeview now boast the Coca-Cola Headquarters, and several other prominent buildings.  However, Lake Ridge continues to move forward with great enthusiasm toward their high goals.

    The Region of Riverton:

    Population: approx. 40,000

I think is the most of the region that I've shown so far.  I'm still working on the Southern part of the region, but the North East and most of the North West is finished.

Well, I'd certainly like to live there. Looks like the location where they would film something like Lord of the rings. Beautiful terraforming and towns.

penguin007 ~ Thanks.  I'm still working on the custom content.  I had too many plugins on my last computer, and so I'm slowly working on organizing them here so they don't go out of control.  Hopefully as the CJ progresses, you'll see some more.

Teeparex ~ Thanks.  I'm rather flattered since I love Lord of the Rings!

aleko ~ Thanks.  I hope you keep checking in time to time.

OK, I've been doing some thinking, and have been rather inspired by some of the other CJ's here.  I have been thinking of starting a new CJ called Antiquitus that has to deal with a country/countries type feel.  Such as founding of the country and such.  So, my question is, what does everyone else think of that?  Should I stop this one to start that one?  If I leave this one, I won't be updating it often(Not that I am right now, anyway. hehe).  Comments?

and also...beautifull story, and nice and realistic Cj...
