(Elevated) highway over sunken highway

Hey guys, I'm trying to build an elevated highway over a sunken highway and it just won't come out right. When I try it, the elevated highway will descend towards the sunken highway making it look crappy. Is there any way to keep the elevated highway at the same level so that it will make a large bridge over the sunken highway? If that's not possible, is there a way to lead a normal highway over the sunken highway? Because I can't seem to build that either.

you could always fill in the sunken highway for a few squares, then make the sunken highway go through a tunnel with the top one crossing over at that point...

Thats how I do it.  There is no other way that I know of.

This is how I do it:  connect avenue to ground highway, use avenue puzzle pieces (included in NAM) to cross the sunken highway, then reconnect the avenue to the highway again.

    Shukie,

The problem is, bridges will only go straight if the 'dip' is exactly 15 meters deep, which can be achieved with Smoncrie's hole digging lots. theres also a tutorial on this in the omnibus, ill post back with links in a sec...

    EDIT:

    Rochefort's Tutorial (VERY Useful)

    Hope this helps 2.gif

    Wacko

Thanks for all your replies, very helpful 4.gif The new nam puzzle pieces sound particularly nice, any idea when it might come out?

    Try this:

Make the above highway into an avenue.

Use the recent NAM's puzzle pieces for avenue.

    Get this:

Certainly not flawless but the best I've been able to do...good luck.

Thanks, I did try that already, but I would really prefer to keep it a highway, it looks better in my opinion 4.gif

You can just drag the elevated highway over the ground one and it will be like a cloverleaf without the ramps. (I think)

The new NAM is out now and I played around with it for a bit, but I can't find any pieces that will allow me to do this. Are those new ground/elevated highway onslope pieces really in?

Ok, in my city, I decided to make a Sunken Highway, and then have an Elevated Highway going the other direction in my city. What I did was make the ground where they both cross Sunken as well, so basically it would be the same depth where the Elevavated Highway is is at compared to the Sunken Highway. Then I just have the stack where they cross instead of the huge cloverleaf. I'll post a picture:
