Herbs and and possibly laughter

I received  this email a few days ago explaining that the FDA intends to pass a law to regulate anything and everything that intends to try to heal out bodies and take away the right to heal ourselves.

This means that, in order to even pray for a loved one, you might have to go to a doctor, pay money, and get a little slip of paper explaining that you can pray for this loved one to get well. Or find yourself in a heap of trouble.

Along with this, we may soon lose access to herbs, massage oils, supplements, vitamins and

even juices, ext, which may all be classified according to the FDA.

Please take time to read this and use one of the links below or  write to

your congress person before April 30th.

Heres some info. Here, and here.

Comment and help stop this absurd law.

If this includes laughter, I'm REALLY not going to be happy. 26.gif

Well, I hope they don't bust me for illegally growing Rosemary, Lavender, Tansy, Vitex, and other herbs (nothing illegal 2.gif) with culinary and medicinal properties in my yard...

Actually, yeah they technically can. One of the fundamental rules of toxicology is "the dose makes the poison." Technically, anything will kill you if you get too much of it. Realistically though, it's highly unlikely.

So if I laugh a black helicopter is going to come down and men in dark sunglasses are going to take me away to a secret facility in the desert?

Seriously though, this law does sound like bad news. While they can't realistically regulate things like prayer and laughter, this could definetely hurt all sorts of things. Sure, there are some bad scams and dangerous products out there, but does there really have to be a huge blanket law to target those specific things?

No, but they think so.  It's a known fact that the FDA tried to regulate stuff like vitamins and minerals out of existence.  And despite what they say, alternative medicine has been proven effective.  I'm living proof that it can work.  It's rather annoying that they think that they have the right to tell me that I don't know what works for me. 30.gif

Yes. In fact many of the most potent toxins in the world are completely natural products and humans cannot create anything near the same level of toxicity. Just because something is natural doensn't mean it is harmless.  Plants for example are chemical *****tails and can include some very nasty things all of which are naturally produced by the plant itself and are quite capable of killing or harming a human.

There is also the issue that when people are treating something they will take the products in higher or more prolonged doses than is "natural". This can cause problems over the longer term which may not be easily identified as being caused by a particular product, eg liver damage

I have nothing against properly qualified people practicing and dispensing herbal medicine or other therapies, but the emphasis is on "properly qualified". I also think based on my own experience that consumers are not adequately advised of the risks and precautions when they purchase these products or therapies. Again I have nothing against people making up their own mind on their treatment, in fact I'm all for it, but I think they should be given enough information to make an informed choice.

Well, not to be starting rumors or rampant speculation, but there are people who feel the FDA is doing this because they are being bought off by the major drug companies.  Whether or not that is actually the case has really never been proven (so far as I know anyway), but there is definite evidence that the FDA is biased.

rosaries and holy water to require prescriptions?!?!

Though, if the FDA was able to be bought off by major drug companies, we wouldn't have drugs being shot down by the FDA like today's arthritis medication failure from Merck.

I find it very suspicious that it's not covered by any major news sites (all links are for herb-supportive sites) and you got an email...looks very suspicious...very suspicious....

I don't believe it. Orange juice? No. YOU'VE BEEN PUNK'D!

No doubt the FDA would frown upon this concoction.

Holy water is in reality, H2O. If you regulate water that's been done stuff to by any holy person, you'd have to regulate normal water.
