Wow, spectacular update! I like when you compare your cj pictures to the real ones of the city. I like your choice of buildings everywhere and I also love your highway.

    BOCHUM Krupp-Stahl AG

The city of "Bochum" is more known of it's industrial looks as it's larger neighbour "Essen". Large factories and groups have settled itself in "Bochum". Not only the main factories of the car-brand "Opel" are here, also some large steel-companies and mining cop.

This small update is about "Krupp Stahl AG" a large steel-plant in the west of "Bochum" near highway "A40" (Ruhrschnellweg)

    bochumcloseopelwb2.jpg

Main overview looking north, notice the main highway of the "Ruhrpott"...

    bochumclosezoomopelum2.jpg

Closed up on the highway passing the steel-company..

Well, this was the first (small) introduction to the city of "Bochum". The next updates will stick around here and I'll show you the city in small parts...

    PRIVATE REQUEST

Hello all!! Thanks for all your replies in the weeks I haven't been around!! I'd get a lot of Personal Messages on how I make these European (non-grid) looking cities..

    Well, I'm gonna give you a little sneak-peak in the "masters" kitchen;

    essenzonedoj6.jpg

As you look close on the above picture; you'll notice (offcourse) the non-grid layout of infrastructure. But, also the placing of zones is crucial if you want to blend the city in with the region. Especcially for European regions as where zones are more mixed up as in the States..

Zone (medium) dense in the center of the city, AND more important -> zone denser areas near main arteries that lead out and in of the city!!! Most people do forget that...

And, mix up some zoning for Industrial (high-tech & manu) with commercial zones -> On sight-locations near avenues/highways etc.

Well, with these few tips I wanted to explain something to you all of my region blending into the surroundings..

Experience (a lot) with it, and you'll see you get them all as natural as I can get!! hahaha

    Cheers & good luck

    E

those road looks so real, the way the road curve and the wavy look turn out to be nice in the end... and the zoning of area is really nice!
