Desert or Snow Regions?

Now that I've finished installing the latest NAM and start the game, how do i get teh desert or snow regions?

Those are made using different terrain mods. Here is the desert terrain mod. Onlyplace4 made some good desert themed buildings (he's released a lot though, so just search for "desert"). There is also a cactus flora mod here, which gives you mayor mode plop cactuses.

For snow regions, the best snow terrain mod is here, on PEG's site. You will have to register there, but it is worth it (and free like ST). For getting buildings that match the snow on the ground, Jasoncw made a snow mod (found here) that replaces the ingame fireworks with snow in the winter months, and adds a layer of snow to most of the Maxis buildings, and some of the buildings on the STEX, including all of Jasoncw's buildings. If you would rather have an Alpine theme in your snowy town, PEG has a Mountain Theme Pack (click here), also on his site.
