I was wondering if anyone has tried to install and run this game in Vista x64 yet.  I havent' played it in a long time and i'm wanting to go back. My game box is going to be reformatted to x64 next week, and I was hopeing someone could tell me if it runs or not on it.

it probably does. but you'd be screwed if it doesn't...I think vista doesn't like dual booting or something like that.

I'm not going to dual boot. I have 2 seperate boxes. The main game box is going Vista x64, while my other box is going to stay XP. Both are more than capable of playin the game.

I believe Vista allows "boxing" systems to run whatever op sys you wish in a "sand box" without having to dual boot.. note that it does require rather heavy doses of resources though.. 4.gif

Any references I have seen imply a 32-bit mode for Vista-64.  Just as a matter of interest, why are you going to Vista?  Do you enjoy being on the bleeding edge with a new box of bugs?

I have 4g of ram in the machine, and xp home only address 2.75g of it. It's wasting it. I also have a core2duo chip which is 64bit, and xp does not use the full potential of it. I just want it to run the full potential of it. I want to see my 4g of ram working with my core2duo and my nvidia 8800GTX card maxing everything out and not even slowing down the framerate ya know. 4.gif

Vista should run just perfectly, I don't see why you should encounter any problems here.

    take care,

Vista installed in 25 min, and it had my evga 680i mb drivers already on the Vista DVD. I'm installing SC4 right now. I'll let you all know if it has any problems.

Finished installing. Seems to be running nice and quick.

That's nice.  Would have been nicer if you had found the edit button on the lower right.  NOB.
