Never download from simcity.com, I've heard there filled with viruses and other malware. Try searching here for a lot like that. Also I wouldn't recommend you using cheats, it's better to learn Sim city naturaly, it teaches you how to manage money.

I must strongly agree and second the statement by Imbored444 above regarding the Maxis site! I have had my own horrible experiences with downloading stuff from them and had to spend a lot of time and effort purging my folder of all the stuff I had downloaded from there. Many conflicts, a lot of headaches and much of the stuff was blatantly pirated by unscrupulous people who took a good creation made by somebody here or at some of the other honourable sites and, in many cases, changed some of the values causing the lots to behave erratically or to cause crashes. I've read other horror stories from other posters as well! Beware!

If you want money, there are several lots available here on the STEX. There is the money tree, a money park, and a couple of mods that allow you to select some ordinances. ecently, Buggi posted a list of cheats that are available in the game without using any external mods. I believe that thread has been stickied at the top of one of these forums.

Go to the STEX and search using "money" as a keyword and you should come up with several options. (Look at the top of this page and click on ST Exchange to get to the STEX.) I don't use any of these personally, so I can't tell you which ones are best, but I do know I've read that a lot of people use the money park and the money tree and seem pretty happy with them.

You may wish to search the STEX for Super Cash Park by stardog13, it is the simplest of the money generating cheats.

Plop a single park and run for one month only for $4 billion !! Demolish it as soon as you've run it for one month as you don't need any more money than that and it apparently crashes your game if you accumulate too much money....I'm taking trillions here so dont worry.

It is better not to cheat at all.  You shouldn't need money cheats.  Just slow down, don't run in cheetah and don't over do the zoning when you start a new city.  There is no need to lay down everything when you start.

You might want to look at the sticky about starting a minimal city above.
