    UPDATE THREE
NOTE: In the past week or two, I have not been able to update because A. I was busy, and B. I had planned a big update (bigger than usual). Thus this update is labeled #3 instead of #2.75. 3.gif
And back to your regularly scheduled program…
    shagrinle1.jpg

    simcityimg0041dc3.jpg
Monument donated by the city of Yellowknife

The newly formed Shagrin Committee of Transportation, or the SCT decided on making the highways going through downtown be sunken, except for a short diagonal stretch impossible to alter, for what they called “visual issues”.
    Under construction:
    simcityimg0035ug1.jpg
    Completed section:
    simcityimg0042he3.jpg
    Raised Parks:
    simcityimg0043so2.jpg
    Diagonal sunken highway bridges:
    simcityimg0046xa2.jpg
Where does that HSR track lead to, you ask?
    simcityimg0045jr1.jpg

As you can see, the airport is nowhere near finished, due to the limits of airlifting construction supplies. Thus the SCT acted quickly, teaming up with the nearly forgotten Alaskan Railways to create a railway link between Anchorage and Shagrin.
    Western Kuskowim Mountain Range:
    simcityimg0047fr7.jpg
    And all the rest:

    simcityimg0048wd6.jpg

    simcityimg0052kd8.jpg

    simcityimg0053dl6.jpg

    simcityimg0054ta1.jpg

Now that the rails were laid (through a rumored nine districts), the airport and other large construction projects could proceed. Aside from that, the opening of the Anchorage-Shagrin line opened up new possibilities for passenger rail traffic. After countless hours of research, a newly developed train rolled along the tracks: the Borealis.

    The train station now:

    The new Shagrin maintenance yard:

    simcityimg0038dq0.jpg

A temporary solar power plant has been set up nearby.
    simcityimg0039zd4.jpg

What will be built here? Find out in the next update…3.gif

    REPLIES
Dantso:           First reply again!3.gif Thanks for commenting as always!
Camedia:       Nah, one runway’s good enough for me3.gif
Jacqulina:       Thank you! A happy New Year to you as well!9.gif
Nanumea:      Thanks for the help! Yes, I was going for the regional/(local)international look. My airport’s not going to be available for a few more updates, due to the unfinished port area, and the fact that I haven’t decided exactly how much space I should spend. But do not fear, construction is underway3.gif
Zelgadis:        Don’t worry, no solviet jets here I’m afraid…4.gif And there’s less snow here than Anchorage, don’t worry3.gif
    Archangel9:   ThanksJ They are3.gif
    Seahawkfan121:       Thanks!
    Mjig_dudy:     It’s still only a strip of asphalt3.gif
Filasimo:        Maybe in the next update…
    Fledder200:   Glad you liked it!
Cjah:   The downtown is the only place I’ve built…3.gif
    Porter66083: Hehe4.gif Almond4.gif Thanks!
    Shiz:    Thank you!
    Narya: Thanks9.gif
Alfred.Jones: Hope this update is good enough for you?3.gif

    Downtown Shagrin:

This is the Daily Shagin’s new headquarters building, undergoing final stages of construction, when the first issue was printed. It read like this:

In the meanwhile, construction is commencing on the capital:

    Suburbia:
Founded directly after the birth of Shagrin (city), suburbia is a semi-urban (duh!) residential area to the east of Shagrin.

    Development so far:

You do some nice work with downtowns in here. I also like that coastline you've created. My favorite park are those rail yards though.

    Okay, two questions:

That building with the giant triangle on the bottom. What is it?

And those seawalls, I've never seen them before! They look great!

    Beautiful, as always. 9.gif

    Jaqulina:            Thank you4.gif
    Bat:                      38.gif
Zelgadis:            If you meant the black building in the university complex, it is the rock and roll hall of fame on the STEX. I f you meant the port tower, it is the Chiba port tower found here.
DanTso:            Actually I didn’t know how to use the new NAM’s rail curve when I did that…3.gif
    Frogface:            Thanks!

As much as i hate the zoomed out picture where you can spot maxis buildings nearly 10 times each (maybe more) this is a great CJ, especially the waterfront!

Thankyou for the link for the sewalls 4.gif

Woah, well done moshi, I lovely couple of updates. The city looks really realistic, and I love the CBD (British term for Downtown).

Also like the landscape, and that microwave receiving plant thing! 3.gif
