Hey Guys!

This is my first CJ so I hope you all like it and will stop by to see how the Olympians are doin.

For this city I pulled some strings so I can gain and edge i used the artmoney method, and the pollution mod and later on the super demand mod, i do plan on taking out the demand mod, i was having trouble getting skyscrapers built so i gave in.

Olympus City in its peak. the year circa 500 the Olympians just had their big Simmer Games and all is well. Not aware of what is to come they celebrate for their success.

This is an overview shot of the city. I am currently working on other parts of the region leading up to the city but here is a glimpse:

WOW! I can see that your city is 504 years old, but it looks like the most modern city in the World.

Nice!

    seahawk fan121:

the downtown area is roughly the center of the map but then again this region consists of 5-6 cities sprawled out thus the city name Olympus City its a mega city center all the industrial jobs are in the surrounding regions along with the waste management region where my trash gets exported to...saves me room so i can add more stuff 4.gif i have 3 major industrial regions with a total of 200k jobs the commercial jobs in Olympus City total at 1.6 million and the city res pop at 1.4 million....

asturianu: at the taking of the new pics the year is now 544 it was year 540 when the first pic was taken

well heres what all ur waiting for:

What was once a sprawling hi-tech industrial district now turned into the new city district after the Anti-Industrial Mandate of year 450 stating that Industrial Sectors must move outside the city limits in order to protect and to beautify the city of Olympus.

Ok here's my regionmap of Olympus: my industrial sectors are in 3 regions with about 200k total industrial jobs also there is a waste management sector dedicated for Olympus City waste and mini regions for the surrounding sectors. each area shares its role selling/buying/exporting/importing water, power, trash from each other to create balance and so it wouldnt cause a strain in each sector hence the freetrade mandate to further accomodate and expand the prosperity in the area....the southern part of Olympus City a new annexation has taken place: Athens, It is still in its infancy but has huge potential as a major suburb of Olympus City...stay tuned...

Thanks guys for all your comments and seahawks ill probly rename it once i get back to playing as for the latest story on Olympus City here's a clip from their newspaper The Olympus Constitution:

A Bleek Path for Olympus City

Olympus City, Olympus. ( Olympus City Press O.C.P.) In a stunning move the Olympus City Government has denied Spandau to become an independent state from Olympus City. Spandau, a sector of Olympus City was annexed by Olympus City circa 351 and shortly thereafter a huge industrial boom occurred providing jobs to many of the Spandaunians. Currently there has been disagreements between the two cities due to the tax increase mandate of Spandau increasing their taxes by 7%. This has cause uproar among the Spandauians because the taxes in Olympus City are nothing compared to what Spandau is now being charged. The rise for independence by the Spandauians as a result of the unfair taxation has caused fears of civil war between the two areas which would create a vacuum and possible regional war. There are speculations that Cherry Oaks, A nearby major regional power are working secretly with the Spandauians to secure them immunity from the taxation and to become a Cherry Oaks run sector providing them with low taxes and semi-independence allowing them to have a Government but would have to report to the Cherry Oaks Regional Government. This auspicious undertaking has caused Olympus City to decide whether or not military action should be taken against Cherry Oaks.

Spandau currently is under Olympus City control and has no governing rule. Spandau, an important industrial sector to Olympus City supplying them with over 100k jobs would hurt Olympus City significantly if Spandau were to break off and become an independent state under Cherry Oaks. A OCP reporter contacted the Cherry Oaks Regional Government and an aide declined to comment but to add that we have no intention to start a war. When questioned again to verify his statement, the Cherry Oaks aide left unspoken. Expect intensive talks between the two parties to continue throughout the following months.

Thanks DanTso the reason for that is that the Olympus City Engineers added filler land for the boardwalk...it was once a major seaport the trees that are lacking is because the region is mainly a grassland

ok guys after getting RL stuff out of the way I now have been to Olympus City and things are getting rather tense and ominous the past few days. I read the paper and saved the frontpage with the main news story here it is:

Olympus City: One Step Closer to WAR!!

Olympus City, Olympus. (Olympus City Press O.C.P.) After failed two party talks between Olympus City and what is now formerly Spandau and what now is formally declared the TPRS (The Peoples Republic of Spandaunia), Spaundauia has broken talks between Olympus City and has broken off from the Republic and has formed their own sovereignty, The People's Republic of Spandaunia. The newly formed Spandaunia Ministry has elected Lord Byron as their ruling official. This surprising move has angered not only Olympus City but Cherry Oaks as well. Cherry Oaks has declared rash repercussions towards Olympus City and to be wary of the unsettled times ahead.

This statement aimed towards Olympus has angered Government Officials and a call to arms has been issued. Meanwhile The TPRS have closed all borders between the two ruling regions in fears that a regional war would spread into the city. Sources say the reason for Cherry Oaks response is a result of a chance to woo The TPRS to default and to join the Cherry Oaks regional sector. As a result of the failed two party talks The TPRS has decided not to be part of any ruling authority but their own. This now causes a regional vacuum in the region for the two larger Ruling bodies and also has crippled the industrial connections of Olympus City to the North and has limited Olympus City connections to its Naval Port. Olympus City still has a sliver of land to access the Naval Port and the Naval Port Authorities are now on high alert for fears that The TPRS will launch a coup de taut and take over the port. Olympus City and Cherry Oaks has tightened relations with their annexations in hopes that they too do not break off from their Republics. Reports have shown that a military draft has now gotten underway in both regions and to expect military mobilizations in the coming months if not weeks.

Crazy: There are some sprouts of suburbs in the outlying areas but not a whole lot at the moment they are mainly industrial outskirts for Olympus City. Once the conflict that theyre in right now gets resolved expect more development. 4.gif
