I know the feeling. Unfortuanately, I can only play against bots (for reasons I won't explain), but its still uber fun...

Singleplayer was iffy... I'm waiting for a Mod or Trainer that'll let me have instant Nukes...

The Movie make is ALREADY in the game... you need to add a bunch of Code to the INI files

I think theres Tutorial on how to set it up here

World in Conflict is one of the best games ever. The graphics are great and the story line for single player is good and the multi player is great. El Burro a mod has been released that will make you happy called anhCheats.

I'm an Unlimited member at 'Cheathappens', so I get the latest Trainers anyway... I love playing through the SP missions on Hard with as much Artillery, Daisy Cutters and Carpet bombs I can handle. A Bot Skirmish is nice too with cheats, but I prefer to play a little fairer since winning too easy is abit boring... I don't hesitate to Nuke the living crap out of the opposing Bots if I start loosing though... ever deployed 20 Nukes before? No, neither have I coz even ONE kills my FPS 18.gif

I was playing the multiplayer beta in summer, was hooked xD

They screwed up on the nuke somehow tho, after so much detail I still dont FEEL the effect, it still lacks a hint of realism that the nuke from Generals had.

the damage radius perhaps? u know it sucks 3.gif

Decius - I understand what you mean. For me, its too 'Cloudy' and not 'Firey' enough... the Generals nuke was great because it was a giant yellow fireball, wereas the WIC nuke is pretty but its not A. Destructive enough and B. Realistic enough

Type 'Nuke' into Google and you see what I mean -

Real Nuke -

Generals Nuke -

WIC Nuke -

us_nuke.jpg

...

See, its just too cloudy...

I would have liked to have seen some kind of visable radiation, even if its just a slight haze over the crater. Also, COH style destructable building would be nice too... and a COH style world builder... and a COH style damage system, Infanty controls, upgrades ect. I'd love to see the Pion be able to get a Nuke upgrade similar to the Nuclear Cannon in Generals, deploying a massivly destructive round (nowhere near as massive as the nuke, as to not spoil the game play) where ever you please, although, the reload time would be quite long (A minute maybe)

The US could have the same, maybe an Humvee based Davey Crockett Nuke... that would be fun 3.gif

Being a tactical nuke it isn't as destructive as those we've seen on Discovery40.gif I actually like the picture of the WiC nuke -- much better than the Generals one (too much fire -- look at all the clouds surrounding the "real" one).

Davy Crockett Nuke39.gif I wish I could play WiC!

I mean the actual fire ball of the 'cup' of the Mushroom cloud, the dust around the explosion and stem are a given on any nuclear explosion. The cap should be a massive fireball first before it decides to dissipate into a cloud of dust. Also, for such a massive cloud the explosion should be much much bigger... they should either make the blast area bigger or make the nuke cloud smaller... possibly more like this -

Think i'm a Realismoholic... lol

You may have a point. I always wondered why the cloud was bigger than the blast wave. I mean I'm not expecting a bigger blast wave, maybe just a smaller cloud.

I'm actually playing this fulltime nowdays =D

Anyone else? =O

Also on the nuke note... the dust cloud on the ground needs to be on scale to the fireball..

like twice the hight of the fireball = double the diameter of the dust cloud. But this is also dependant on the limit height. At a certain height the shockwave wont mirror back uppwards enough.

Best example of this is a drop of water in a puddle... the little drop going back up will go about a specific height with a specific ripple wich is calculable

Its the whole reason Nuclear testing was done, to see differant blast damages on differant alltitudes

They did this excellently in Generals

About the multi. I just have to warn you guys about a few things

1. Don't spawn arty. It guarantees an instant kick

2. Don't spawn more than one arty. Assuming you don't get kicked, someone might teamkill you.

3. If you happen to be persistent and still go with an arty, don't protect it with your AA. It's more required in the frontlines than at the back. People will also think you're a coward.

4. If you do have a mic, make sure you use it. Not that it's required, but communication is impt if you don't want to get kicked. That's assuming if you're not in sync with your team. If you don't, you can use the chat bar. It also helps to signal your team as to what you plan to do or alert them with what you see in the battlefield (press Q).

5. Don't blob. This is especially if you're infantry. It guarantees free kill from the other team by using TA.

6. If ever, don't use infantry if you're new. It's a hard role. You might want to try some other role that the single player kinda made you accustomed to. I would try picking armor or support role if I am new.

7. Colonel Sawyer once said, "Respect your enemy." If the enemy is stacked full of generals, just leave. It's an unfair game. Pretty much the problem in a public server. If you're on the stacked team. Have fun bashing *****s (EDIT: oops, forgot about the filters) 2.gif.

8. There is no such thing as a good player or a good team, only a bad player and a bad team. Everyone has to do their jobs. If one fails, pretty much everything will FAIL. Success depends on the better cooperation of the team.

9. Good luck, have fun, and don't Ragequit.

That's pretty much it. The guys at massgate did mention something that the multiplayer experience has a steep learning curve, but when you do reach the top, it gets easier from there.

BTW, guys I have a problem with this game on Win7. I can't hear the VOIP. At the same time, I can't record sound using the built-in Sound Recorder. I think they're related. FRAPS works however. That's all.

Agree on most of this. Especially the learning part. At the start you might think you wont even be able to deploy Nukes. Now I'm almost 1 star general I can throw one about atleast in 3 games.

Also, if you have tanks, move about each 7 seconds, thats the time it takes for the quickest TA to strike. If you are infantry, never move straight, a good heavy arty player will take all your guys in 2 shots (like me wuahah)

I dont agree on arty beeing bad tho its some players are severe idiots with it and becuase of that ppl tend to want them out. Atleast 1 arty is a good thing, especially vs infantry wich can be a pain. Its however useless when the other team keeps anticipating you, this just luck based then. I have seen a 4 star general triple arty nightmare 2500 points the other team, so once you have leaned it somewhat it can be insane

what ur nick ingame?

Want to be good at the playing multiplayer on wic? Follow these general guidelines and I garrantee your game will be stepped up a notch.

1. play few player mode with bots that are set to the highest difficulty, do this until you get to the point of being able to destroy the bots in minutes. Doing this helps you build multitasking skills, if you can field and command all roles at once, you will find individual roles to be very easy. (best to use a modd like the no hope nuke mod, it helps computer pathfinding and unit usage tremendously.)

2. Once profficient at destroying hard bot players, play a friend over the LAN settings. Fighting a computer is one thing, fighting the strategy of a another live player is something entirly different.

3. As you play, reduce the dependancy of using large brute force, focus on using smaller elements to accomplish tasks. Also dont rely on similer tactics or use of particular units for all situations. Practice different tactics and switch them up to both test, and confuse the enemy.

4. Lastly, and most important, dont be the lonely general, battles are not won by individuals. Members of your team should do the above also. Play against each other, know each others strengths and weaknesses, test each others strategies and combine them.

if you generally follow these tips your team will be a force of death and carnage spreading fire and frustration to whatever map you choose to pummel.

Well, because of the Cold War, Russia's always going to have that, "big baddy" aspect to it, even if times have changed a lot since then. Russia's still a good enough scapegoat for video game villainy. But if you want something different, play;

Command & Conquer:

Enemy: NOD (multinational terrorist organization)

HomeFront:

Enemy: North Korea

Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising:

Enemy: China

Older Call of Duty's:

Enemy: Germany

Resistance:

Enemy: Weird semi alien-semi human hybrid..things.

There's still variety. :P

I'm the 'A' to the 'r', to the c-h-e-a-n,
and even though my name means 'old' I'm really quite pimp,
I'm Archilicious.
