I wanted to install this, so I downloaded it, and put in my plug in folder. But it's not showing up in the game. In the readme file, it says to go to this website (http://www.pucechan.com/~sc4dev/) to get the installer, but it's not there (just info on Jackie Chan and Johnny Cash!).  This is a popular download, so how are people installing it?

Also, does it replace the previous ordinance- Clean Air Act??

I'll assume you unzipped the file and placed it in your plugins folder correctly...well don't know the particular mod, but Karybis is a realiable modder...but if it's an ordinace...you most likely have to enter the mayor budget tool and enact one of the city ordinaces  and thats what the mod has change...click on the clean air ordinance as it seems that the one it mods,. should show a X beside it...that will start the mod working when you now run the game...sound like it makes the normal clean air ordiinance 5 times more effective....hope this helps

i read it correctley i dont think she can downlad it. the page it directs her to is of a fan site of some sort. thats the problem.

u did try and get this modd from the "modds&downloads" section right? if thats the case, either the url has changed or its a hoax perhaps. might wanna let the moderators know, voar_tok is a moderator for the STEX, let him know of the issue.

do a search also on the STEX for "clean air" i'm sure u will find something

well I did download the mod but didn't use it...the link to the help on it and all seems to be because it is one of the old KBI Rpatch files, which predates the use of plugins and required the use of the Rpatch program (it's obsolute so thats why the link is no longer availiable...which I personelly don't recomend using, as this use to affect the Simcity_1.dat files directly and can be a pain to remove...plugin files are much eaisier to use and remove from your game...)

I recocomend looking through the STEX for some sort of clean air park or filter...Ralphninja has a some radical ones and also has the Radicial Ordinace V2 mod, which is now a later version that includes other mods as well in a plugin form.

I put the word 'ordinance' into the STEX search and results for only 1 came back. Are there no other ordinances in the STEX?

Cool and thanx Swamper!

I was just going to say that RalphaelNinja's Radical Ordinance (https://www.simtropolis.com/modding/index.cfm?p=details&id=282) contains an ordinance that completely removes air and water pollution.

I was going to extract that single ordinance from there and enclose it to my post, but you beat me to it with the real thing 2.gif

The Super Clean Air Ordinance reduces air pollution to 75% and does have a negative impact on ID desirability, whereas RalphaelNinja's Radical Ordinance reduces air pollution completely (also from traffic) without any desirability impact on ID.

In case people want to compare and modd any of these ordinances to their own likening, I'm enclosing the Radical Clean Air Ordinance (without the clean water part of it) to this post.

Just one note to anyone downloading them both: use only one of them, ie. put only one of them in your plugins folder.

Thank you Swamper77. Maybe this could eventually get uploaded to the old kbi one in the modds section of Simtropolis.

EDIT:  There wasn't any README included.  It is 100% exactly the same as this?

Thank you again Swamper77.

Oh, does anyone know if this new dat zip adds an ordinance, or overwrites the old one? Thanks.

EDIT:  Is updating from kbi to dat easy?  or does it require a bit more knowledge than just a newbie playing the game?

Thanks Swamper77.

Well thats unfortunate that we cannot add new ordinances. Only edit existing ones. Perhaps thats why no one has focused on that in the downloads/modds much. It would be nice to choose which clean air ordinance it appropriate for the time and city of choice.

The question is.... how are the ordinances recognized by the game? is it just by identifier, cause if so, then perhaps someone could try to create one with a new identifier. Its probably pretty tricky. I'll try out the reader and see if i can figure anything out. But with all the experienced modders on this site, I suppose i wont find something they haven't.

Thanks RippleJet,

And one more thing... above you commented that its only safe to put ONE of the two radical mods into the game.  Why is that?

(I tend to go for realism, so i may not use radical ones, but id like to compare and check them out anyway, so thanks for posting it.) 4.gif

Thank you, Swamper, for changing this to a .dat file. I was able to download the previous one, but it was kbi and the readme directed me to an outdated page to install it. Perhaps you should write to an administrator and replace the dat file on the main download page, as I'm sure others are having the same problem I did, since it's number 17 on the "top 50 downloads" list.

    Thanks again!

Cougar, since those two modds change the same exemplar, you cannot have them both. Only the last one loaded by Simcity would be used.

hi all, I tried the radical ordinance and the super clean air ordinance but I found the radical one to be too much of a good thing and the super one not good enough, is there an easy way to make something in between? I'm quite illiterate in programming myself so I'd be much grateful if someone could do it.

    thanks 4.gif
