While your Spring Break ends, mine begins. 3.gif

Now this is a very good update, Twiggy! Fantastic job on the graphics, once again. I like that postcard a lot, and am not surprised to see that someone is really enjoying the warm weather. 3.gif Great development and layout on Eden Isle. The parking lot along with the trails make for a familiar combination that I tend to use frequently. You've really built it well, constructing recreational facilities and a library around it. Nice usage of JBSimio's and spa's W2W's, too. They all fit into this kind of setting with ease. And the beach, wow, just wow. The selection of the trees, props, and the matching plaza textures are simply amazing. However, I think people might be a little hesitant to dip their feet into the water, with a name like that! I know I would!

Keep it up, Twiggy. Looking forward to more!

Uploading Rant:  Agh!  Photobucket is not working for me anymore.  I thought it was just that one time, but today I tried to upload again and nothing happened.  I think it hates me; the feeling is mutual.  Anyway, I apologize again for slow loading times.   Any suggestions for sites?  What do you guys use?  And am I the only one whose photobucket has given up the ghost?  15.gif

Ah well.  Here is the update.

    banneren2.jpg

Affording a breathtaking water view, Eden Isle vacation homes are owned by the two highest-ranking leaders in Tierra: the red-roofed one by the mayor, and the white one by the Prime Minister.

    mansionmosaic2lt5.jpg

As you can see, the PM’s house has direct access to Leech Beach.

Nearby, the NDEX DA Metropolitan Corporation Centre is one of the largest buildings on Eden Isle.

An extremely long bridge connects the little island to the rest of the world (click for full size).

    REPLIES

    Leech10:

    I thought you would 3.gif

    Zelgadis:

Yeah, I was going to mention something about there being no leeches, as a joke…but now I’m not so sure.  Notice that no one is swimming in the water.  47.gif

    The Big Z:

    Haha, thanks!  9.gif

    Waway625:

Yeah, you can blame Leech10 for that 3.gif  Just kidding.  Those corals would be beautiful to see, I’m sure.

    Anarchy0029:

LoL yeah…not so great name.  But it rhymed.  And…was kinda cool.

    Callbat:

    Hey, thanks! 2.gif

    DarkEldar:

Thanks, so glad you liked the beach. It was my first one (that I can remember).

    Jacqulina:

Haha, thanks, glad you liked the fishing pier(s)! I had fun laying them out.

    Twenty20:

(Slightly redundant name? Haha, just kidding) Glad you liked the story of Señor Sim, and thanks for commenting.

    Simfan34:

Wow, good timing on Photobucket’s part eh? I don’t know why it wasn’t (isn't) working. Thanks, so g

Oh my gosh that last pic is amazing. I love the way there are palms right by the water's edge and the terrain levels change. Excellent island that is with a lot of good lookin' flora!!!! Perfect in every way shape and form! Sorry for not commenting in a while too, I've been really busy.

Great to see this city journal still alive and well! 44.gif

Very nice. The bridge is ridiculous!. But I love the island. The beaches are nice too, and might I add they have uniquely colored sand.

Gorgeous, Twiggy. Simple Gorgeous. I really love the beach, too. I think your building placement and the palms trees is tops! As for photobucket. I use it, but I try to sort my pics into separate albums. Are you doing that? I usually only let mine get to about three pages(I think that's around 60 pics, or so) before making another.

I've got no suggestions, everything looks flawless! Well, after taking a much closer look, maybe except for that street which has three stop signs in a row because of the TE tennis court. It's not really much of an issue, but more of a cosmetic detail that only people like me will complain about since we're always so picky about those types of things. 3.gif

Nice shots of Eden Isle once again, from DA's creation to the retaining walls by the beach. Fantastic night pic of the bridge! Even if the traffic is bottlenecked across the whole entire stretch. Must be Spring Break. But hey, it looks much better than no cars, that's for sure. 9.gif

    The city of Midway

Called so because it is midway between Santa Maria and a neighboring city

Again I apologize for slow loading times

Also I am thinking of making  a "slogan" or saying  for Tierra

Any ideas?? I'm not very good at coming up with things like that lol

Sorry no replies to comments, I will get to it next time, been kinda busy lately!  Suffice it to say your comments are very greatly appreciated!  9.gif

Not the most original name, but the structure of Midway really makes up for that. 3.gif I noticed only one small flaw in the town, and it's how that diagonal road kinda curves into the neighboring diagonal building in the second picture. I see why you may have opted to make the road curve like that, to avoid having to make the street into a road in order for it to connect to the sharp angle. If that isn't the case, then it would look a lot better with a smoother curve that doesn't extend into the building. 2.gif

Besides that, fantastic work so far! Usually I hate to see the standard Maxis dirt railroad texture, but in Midway's case, it blends in pretty well with the surrounding buildings. My creativeness is pretty shot right now, so I can't give any suggestions for a slogan. Maybe next time I may have something to suggest, who knows. Can't wait for another top-quality update from you, Twiggy!
