Haha, awesome. I really expected an answer like, "Tiger shark," but I suppose all fish are prey, eh?

Man, all this pressure of being funny is making me sweat. I have no material right now. Maybe after lunch...2.gif

Just wonderin' for some reason: Do Schulmanians worship catfish too? I mean, cat, catfish, you can kinda see the point...

Darn! I missed the press conference. Oh, well, they said there'd be another one. I better keep on my guard!

South Wirdleonia: And Now, The Other

The village of Castello di Carmelcciase is the most southwestern settlement in all of Schulmania. For now, anyway. Its twin lies at the base of the mountain, only slightly to the east. It is known as Campo di Carmelcciase (CAR-mel-CHEE-a-say) since “castello” is the “castle” and “campo” is the “field”. For a frontier town, Campo di Carmelcciase, often referred to as “Campo” by the locals, is stunningly cultured and developed. The town, much dense in development that its hilltop, agricultural twin, serves as the administrative and cultural center of the southern frontier. Frontier? Hard to imagine that moniker, since the village features a massive, innovative cathedral at its center and the largest medical facility in Schulmania.

    entrancezn9.jpg
Heading downhill from Castello di Carmelcciase, we arrive at the end of the dirt road and the beginning of the paved streets of our destination. The entrance to town is flanked by businesses and, today, populated by a random brown bear. Does he know that’s a Fancy Feast factory on the other side of the footpath?

We begin the tour of town at one of the most important spots, the town reservoir. The grassy plains do not get as much rainfall as the north and no southerly body of water has yet been discovered. So, water is pumped through aqueducts from the mountain down to the village and is stored at the reservoir. The pool is also a source of recreation. Residents come to feed the birds (to make them plumper and juicier) and also to use the boats. The reservoir also serves as a big fish pond. Considering the feline affinity for fish, it makes perfect sense! Shops line the reservoir’s hill on the town facing side, offering fine dining and retail with a great view.

    pool1ef4.jpg

    pool2.jpg

    pool5.jpg
An added bonus – large game swims in the reservoir, providing the special of the day. In the first picture, a hapless llama (named Larry, in case you were wondering) got in over his head. At the Lakeside Tavern, the special reads “Llama Larry the Dromedary, slow roasted in his own juices, served on a bed of smashed garlic potatoes and a proprietary compound of fire-roasted vegetables.” Hungry?

    pool4.jpg
At night, the “lake” is a bustling place. I wonder how they light that tower up with no electricity. Wouldn’t you hate to be the guy who had to put that fire out every morning?

Let’s explore the prosperous commercial and industrial sectors of the town. The rich big game nearby has led to many food processing centers and some exotic fine dining. Campo has become the largest Fancy Feast producing town in all of Schulmania!

    comm1.jpg

    comm2.jpg
The bustling town has a rich and diversified nightlife. There’s restaurants, boutiques and even the Crumbling Foundation Theater (above) which thrills audiences with randomly sloping seats… slouch in your seat and you may end up on the floor!

    comm4.jpg
At the heart of town is open air Turnstone Plaza, where vendors hawk their wares and fashionable shops pry loose schulmonetas from the crowds with fabulous goods. Rumor has it a shipment of blue beach towels from New Atkinos will arrive soon!

    comm6.jpg
The Shoppes at Shingure Place are a popular destination and located right in front of the Joetropian Cat Toy Factory, which produces hundreds of custom-made kitty toys every day to be shipped across the nation. The Supreme Wirdle loves her JT Original Cat Fishing Wand.

    comm7.jpg
In the midst of this shopping paradise, offices of many professionals happily coexist. At top center is the design studio of Spidey Cat Brushes and at lower left is the accounting firm of B.B. Fan & Company.

The Wise Academy is next to the hospital and across the street from the reservoir “lake”.

    comm3.jpg
The top floor of this side of the hospital features the Phat Capheteria, home of the first Chicken King franchise in the southlands.

Another linchpin in the local economy is the industrial sector. From cat food canneries to cat toy manufacturers to household goods, Campo will generate wealth and a higher standard of living for the entire nation.

    ind1.jpg
This tranquil area is an industrial park. Not too industrial looking, is it?

As we explore Campo more in the next update, we will see the fabulous new cathedral, which is certain to send waves of envy out all across the Wirdleonian plains…

Great village. I'm glad the Schulmanians built a nice cute cathedral rather than a nice cute church or chapel.

LOL, Leech10 when I scrolled down I thought you posted 'wildfires' in stead of 'wildlife.' THAT would have been interesting!

Great update too, you are the king of close-up scenes, your towns seem so full of life that way!

Fantastic update! As Borat would say: "I Like!" Those cats really live up close and personal with the wildlife. Is it possible that they are too overconfident? 41.gif "Campo" is a wonderful village, I think I would live there if I could live in anywhere in Schulmania.

    Cheers! 1.gif

Wow, looks like there are plenty of interesting things out there, so many cats (and exotic animals 3.gif) around! Those green areas are a perfect addition and give a pleasant look to the whole! Great work with the reservoir and the "industrial park", the cleanest I ever seen, can't even find the famous smoking London bug! 2.gif

Hmm, btw, I think I have spotted a gigantic cat somewhere in the water...

With hair so fabulous one needs a fabulous brush with which to tend it (is that correct grammar? I don't really know...) So I believe there is a market for fabulous brushes, and hopefully it will lead to much more fabulous hair throughout the Schulmanian region.

I think this is just one of THE best updates!!! I loved it. And yeah..I was going to say "and who gets the job of setting a huge fire at night to light that tower" and you beat me to it by addressing it yourself. That brown bear is a little disconcerting. Maybe I can throw lots of blue towels at him if he gets obstreperous.

Hm. The Joetropian Cat Toy Factory. Pretty fancy feather wand there. No wonder the Supreme Wirdle fancies it.

Good thing I ate dinner already. 3.gif The special at Lakeside Tavern sounds excellent. I love potatoes!

Nice plazas! Good to see a little industrial, even if they don't look like the typical modern factories.

Smarty218 You know, graduates of Smarty's in Carmelcciase are among the most successful in Schulmania's agriculture. They must have good teachers. 9.gif

Hester Thou shalt see, thou curious beastie.

Leech10 Hard to say... perhaps when something "bugs" them?

gabry85 Hmmm, and I thought it was chestnuts roasting on an open fire...

    jacqulina Thanks! Lol!

NMUSpidey Tiger Shark? Hmmm, beats a catfish, though catfish are yummy...

Twenty20 Merci beaucoup! It sure beats a real press conference, doesn't it?

Joetropian1 Nope... catfish are meant to be consumed, not worshipped. But, they are held in high regard for fish.

    Leech10 Feed them bones.

Smarty218 Veggie Feast? Not sure any cat would go for a salad... but you might get one to go for tuna juice infused tofu.

Smarty218 Well, Fancy Feast is both fancy and a feast... who could resist?

Jacqulina Hidely hey, J! The mickebear commercials are actually most from his industrial pack. IHT2 level (3 has too many modern doo dads in the lots). You can get an occasional MB commercial to grow in a 6x6 or 7x7 commercially zoned lot. If you have the no Maxis mod, you can get them to grow in 2x3, 2x2, 1x2, 1x1 , 5x2 and 4x3 as well.

    Leech10 Wildlife.... Delicious AND nutritious!

Joetropian1 So, pi man, you got me some pi? Why do they say pi are squared when they are so obviously round?

Jrhnemo Thanks! That's a nice endorsement. You will see the centerpiece of town in the next update. I think you will like it.

gabry85 There may be a swimming cat or two, but the Supreme Wirdle will NOT be amongst them!

    Benedict Cool! Thanks!

NMUSpidey Brushing is great for maintaining the glossiness of one's fur coat. You provide a most valuable service.

Hester Fear not, the bear doesn't know what obstreperous is, so he won't become it!

ky72x Don't forget with your roasted Llama Llarry with the proprietary compound of fire roasted veggies to go with it!

Twenty20 Merci de nouveau! I am glad you enjoyed the update.

Patricius Maximus Thanks! Glad you came back by. I have more canals planned for the future.
