Organizing Plugins

I remember when I first used the "Plugins" folder. The first pack of additional landmarks. Awesome. But now I have 240 items, clocking in at 126MB, and I don't know where to start organizing. Any help?

Well, some people organize by authour, but I organize by category. I have a few categories.

Buildings

Other

Mods

_My buildings (Yes, I have a special place for my buildings. Underscore to load first!)

NAM

Transportation

and all the auto installers....

I'm sure you can come up with some good subcategories...

Actually, it's in the Omnibus, under SimCity4 Reference. It's the sixth article. It also gives links, to other references, for organizing your plugins folder.

In the end, it all comes down to one simple question you can use as a test for whatever sorting method you choose:

"If I had 800 downloads, and I had just noticed a terribly ugly building called XYZ popping up in one of my cities, and I had decided that I'm going to get rid of it - would I find it among the 799 others in my plugins folder?"

No matter which method you choose, if you can answer this question with "Yes, no problem", your sorting method is good. Everybody's mind works differently, so the sorting method you choose depends solely on you and the easiest way for you personally to find your way through a load of plugins.

It's not that difficult; I have slightly over a gigabyte of plugins, and finding & deleting an undesired file is a matter of seconds.
