Travelling to University?

I've started a new region with some large city tiles (unfortunately I can't post any examples because of problems I'm having with html in these forums), and I've got things setup that I have planned three consecutive tiles, side by side, as R/C$$$ -> R/C$$+$ -> Industrial.  I have not yet worked on the R/C$$$ tile yet as I only have around 30k citizens, so most of the work is done in the eastern part of the middle tile and the western part of the industrial tile.  The University got unlocked and it got me thinking...  I think I want to put one in the middle tile, but was thinking about putting it on the western side of the city.  My question is will people travel from the left tile (R/C$$$)  to the middle tile to attend University, or does the University only apply to the city which it is located in?

The university only apply to the city it is located.

Also, sims only travel when going to work or returning home. Traffics from school, university, alirport, hospital etc etc are not included in the game.

Which is weird as the 10 people living in one small house all have jobs so when do they go to school?  Are all sims catholic? is that why they have such large families?  Or maybe Mormon?  And is child labour really acceptable? Even in a game?

I guess you weren't around in the 60's, and 70's to see the hippie commune's.  2.gif

The university does have jobs, though. So, you will see sims travel to the university to get to those jobs. (Professors, gardeners, whatever...)

I find the university a great help when my sims are crying over a lack of other jobs. I don't know how many exactly it can employ, but I've seen it with 140 employees at times.
