sth wrong w the query sound

Hi!

I don't exactly remember since when, but one day I realized that all the query sounds (or 'tunes') for Landmarks have changed into "church bell rings". For every LM, I get these ringing bells instead of the wows of tourists and their camera flashes. How can I fix this?

I once read that it's possible using the PIM but I'm a newbie and I couldn't find it in the PIM.

Thanks for reading.

Hi,

Using the iLive reader, open the concerned file and select the exemplar concerned. Now go to the 'SFX: Query Sound' property, open it and change it to 0xEA8C9EFD and save the file. That hexadecimal number is the resource ID for the 'cameras' query sound.

by the way, the 'Big Ben' query sound is 0x0A8C9EF0.

There you go!

not to step on your toes Constantina, but if there is a custom file loading after the landmarks that changes the query sounds for the landmarks, then changing the landmarks exemplar will not help.

durtlskdi: this is probably a custom download causing this, you will probably need to go thru all your plugins (removing them bit by bit, or use N.O.B's remove half method) and try to isolate the offending download and remove it.

here's what you can do to speed things up a bit. split your plugins folder in half. now try the game seperately with each half and see if the problem persists. whichever half seems to cause the problem, you'll know that the other half is good. so now cut into half the half that caused the problems and repeat the process. keep repeating the process until you narrow it down to one file. trust me, this speeds it up so much more than having to try each individual file.
