4 Local Mounties Killed

While investigating a marijuana grow op just northwest of Edmonton near the small town of Mayerthorpe on March 3rd 2005, 4 mounties where shot with a high powered riffle. All 4 Mounties died on the scene. To look back in Canadian history to see the last time something of this magnitude happened you have to look back to 1885 to see this devistation. Canada as a nation can go years at a time without losing a police officer and sadly just outside of Edmonton we lost 4 junior officers at once.

 

 

   This last Thursday (March 13th) at the University of Alberta (in Edmonton) we held the largest memorial in Canadian history. These four men deserved more then a large memorial, they deserved to live out there lives. Over 15,000 people attended along with many delegates including the Prime Minister of Canada and Premier of Alberta. Also 10,000 Mounties, Canadian, and American police officers attended the memorial. The pictures above are all from the memorial.

 

    I know many people around the world die daily and may have had much harder lives. But in the area of the world I live in this never happens. Its been nearly two weeks and its still hard to understand why, and what happened. I'm really sorry for what has happened.

This CJ is the most realistic thing I've ever seen, I didn't even know this was possible! I wet back through and checked a few places since I haven't seen everything. I have to say that the airport is just amazing, I've never seen a more realistic airport. I could comment on everything here, but I'll just leave it with a [:0] . I wouldn't know where to start doing a city to scale like that.

Just want to take a moment to say thanks to the mounties in Mayerthorp, and mounties everywhere. You're doing a fine job and make this country proud. I pray something like this never happens again, but thanks to all the mounties who risk their lives to protect us everyday. Canada has lost four fine men.

Edmonton March 15th : I've played around with alot of different areas of the city lately. I did alot of work on the Manning Crossing area today increasing the regions jobs by a few thousand. And I also did some work on the airport. I filled in all the gaps with an airport textured park I made to give it a complete look. In the next day or two I should do alot of work on this map and sarounding areas of the airport. Here is the Airports 2nd draft.

hey, i was looking back at the starting of you're CJ and i noticed that you started first with the roads and transportation! do you use that stratagy for all of you're regions or just the ones u have planned out?

A real tradejie about the Mounties, they were all very young, and, last I heard, were not even on dudy at the time of the incident, but were still targeted for the attack... a real shame...

Edmonton March 17th

Chunky_Monkey_14 : The roads are still being layed and are at around 95%. But I do things in steps so I don't get ahead of myself. Terraforming first, Roads, and then building. For other regions that arent recreations I invision the road network but no I dont lay it all out first.

nooneatall : Anyone who knows me, knows I don't give up. This CJ will continue as long as this site is up. That is the only thing that can obviously kill this CJ. And about the mounties, all but one was officialy on dudy.

I've been working on the region again at a better pace. I've done some work around the airport, downtown (which is at 720+ years now lol) and highlands. The only thing that really slows me down is trying to get the proper look of every building in the city. Realisticly a few 100,000. For most commercial areas I try to lay down a building that is somewhat simular. Same goes for all Res that are Med to High. And I'm trying to get the look down of every industrial building too. Any building you see in this CJ is a representation of the real thing. Never just a random RCI growth.

NintendoMaster128 : The sign is the perfect scale and really makes the building. Great progress. I'm really anxious to get it in the city.

kassarc16 : The CN Railyards on the Northside of the Airport need alot of work. So far there is only rail placed there. But as requested here is a preview aswell with some other half finished areas around the airport. (note : if anyone can see the cities age is 548yrs. And isn't the oldest area in the region).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also any industrial area seen in these pictures will be redone. There not replicas of each and every building but just placed Industry for jobs. This area at 548yrs needs another 500-1000yrs put into it for completion.
