Please do and post your finished work here.

Here are updates to the caboose. There are three cabooses in the pack. ID 10A800 and 10a801 have the Right Rail logo. 10A810 has the Conrail logo. The Right Rail caboose 10A800 replaces the original caboose.

    And some screen shots.

I have an idea for another model of caboose but for now I'll work on some old requests.

    Hello Troica:

I would like to see a Japanese Highspeed Train skin for Simcity4 and I like to say I have found the train set mod very useful ,but one tiny problem still remains no steam train yet not all.

Do you have the transportation pack from Maxis installed? If yes the only reason why you would never see steam engines is if you are using one of my mods that replaces the steam engine with something else like a freight engine.

I am putting off working on passenger service trains untill Rush Hour is out. It looks up graded passenger and subway cars will be included as well as the more stream lined engines. I will focus on freight requests untill after the release.

Here is the first of my Bay Line series. This engine will replace the original one. It's ID is 10AA00.

I'll make at least one more engine, a caboose and a set of box cars before moving on.

Tell me, are the first engines you released in the new train set bigger than the originals, or is it just me?

It must be the color scheme because I used the original 3DS, so size should be the same. I never made any larger then the original freight engine. Many are smaller but none are larger.

I have a question for everyone.

Do you rather have real road names, or fictional ones?

Well, then, I must be going crazy! Sorry about that...

I just got majorly in to trains, thanks to you, Trolca, and of course, Aronion, who I got a bunch of pointers from. Yay! I even changed my avatar...

And you said that there might be new traincars in Rush Hour. Do you mean the new cars that will be part of the new networks? Or (I hope) new cars for the existing tracks? I hope it's both...But I thought Dirk's article said that there would be no new cars.

And I would prefer it if you used real names, as long as they are cool-looking. Hehehe...I would like to see a real famous rail network or two appear, ones that even I (the newbi train guy) have heard of before. Just my opinion.

Different colors can make objects look larger or smaller.

    I like the new avatar.

I seen what seemed to be a desktop image from EA for rush hour. All the different modes of transportation was present. Included in the picture was extended passenger and subway cars.

I can do one or two well known names. If you have any pictures you like post them.

I plan on working on a Canadian scheme next.

for the classic road names that equinox just suggested, how about the old pennsilvania railroad or the new haven railroad. neither exsist anymore but it would still be cool to see. the engines are much different than the ones in the game, both of these lines relied heavily on electics to pull thier cars and didnt have many diesles in thier rosters. New Haven Diesle Engine
I coulndt find a good pic of a Penn. engine sorry.

Are you just doing US/Canadian traisn or will you be adding European too?

if so, would you consider the Eurostar or the French TGV or the new Virgin APT (which tilt)?
    /idealbb/files/R1013rSet.jpg
    Eurostar ^
/idealbb/files/pvd1.gif This a picture of the Acela Express, a US version of the TGV. More info on this is here http://mercurio.iet.unipi.it/tgv/acela.html

Trolca I can see you are a busy man with all theses train mods. Was wondering if you qwould consider a Union Pacific Frieght set. I grew up in the Western US and they are the main frieght line in most of the states out there. Heck they built the Donner Pass tunnels and such. Rember the cannibals ;-P

    k552.jpg

This link here ---> http://www.uprr.com/aboutup/photos/ has pretty exstensive photos for examples of diesels, cabooses and cars.

Please say yes9.gif But as I said I know you are busy. Just think this would be a wonderful set.

Thanks for the pictures. I am waiting on Rush Hour before doing any kind of passenger service. I plan on getting it when it reaches stores in my area next week.

TLannister, that picture is exactly the train I was hoping for.  Even somebody who has no knowledge of trains whatsoever will recognize that picture!  22.gif

And for passenger trains, I was really hoping for the Acela Express, although you probably wouldn't even have to do much to get it, just a few minor texture adjustments...I've seen this from Train Simulator.  Also, I like the light rail in the Mallard's last post, that looks really cool if you ever get into major model adjustments.

EDIT: one more thing I forgot.  The Acela Express has two engines, identical of course, but one is on the front and one is on the back, facing the other way.

    Sorry Trolca,

I know you want to wait til RH, but the mention of that, combined with themallard12's mention of the Southern New Jersey light Rail/Transit sustem made me think that the London Docklands Light Rail is an ideal example of an elevated rails system.

Here are a few pictures. Please note: The are NO drivers. It's all controlled by a computer and passengers can sit right up in the fronat and pretend they are in the drivers cab 1.gif

Go back up to the top of this page, and look below the posts where he said something like "here's a new update".  Right below his signature, there is a line that says something like "Attached File: (name of mod).zip".  Download this, unzip it, and put it into your plugins folder.  There are also some mods on the previous page.

And long trains...It's a mystery.  It might be like passenger trains, where the more usage, the longer the train, but it doesn't seem like it...So we don't know.

The South Jersey Light rail trains look better than the ones in the Hudson/Bergan and the Newark subway.
