WELCOME TO MAYOR CITY

Mayor City is going to be a networked region that people will update there cities.  Once a week we I will request them to upload there city into my computer.  Then I will post a region picture.  I will make sure that the cities look somwhat natural.  Here is the region map....

If you want to apply to run for a city, simply post the (up to) 3 cities you want.  If you want less then 3, then simply post for however many you want to apply for.  All cities are Large City Maps.

 

ELECTIONS TO BE HELD FOR 2 DAYS AFTER AT LEAST (1) MEMBER HAS SIGNED UP FOR CITIES 1-16.  AS SOON AS THE EMPTY POSISTIONS ARE FILLED, THEN WE WILL BEGAN THE ELECTIONS 2 DAYS AFTER (TO ALLOW MORE THEN ONE PERSON IN THE ELECTION FOR EACH CITY).  IF NO ONE SIGNS UP EXCEPT THE INITIAL PLAYER, HE/SHE WINS AND WILL BE TOLD WHICH TYPE OF CITY HIS/HERS WILL BE.

Hm, it's been months ago since I played my last SC multiplayer... but I'd love to take part in this one cause the region looks really cool.
Could I have City 16?
Oh and is/will be there a masterplan for the region?

Madawac, i am glad to see that you are going to be in the elections.  I have seen your work with Bently County.  Its amazing?  A master plan?  I am going to allow people to build there cities on there own.  However, if they are going to do something to there city, that might make the region look unnatural.  I will either get rid of the placement, or tell the nieghboring cities to vote on whether they care if its there or not.  If a mayor of a city wants to add something (lets say a canal) to join to another city, then they must confront the other mayor that they will be connecting the canal to

Hi Helomoto,

Very good idea and very interesting. However, I have some considerations.

For the cities to be imported and run smoothly, there is required some preparatory work:

- Region-wide planning and city density and specialisation (which cities will have industry, commerce, residential, utilities etc)

- Region-wide transportation layout and design.

- Networks and utilities.

- Building styles (Chicago, Houston, Euro etc)

- Which downloaded buildings are allowed to be used.

- Mods, version of NAM (capacities & speeds)

etc

Also some sort of coordination is required:

- Connections: who will create the connections, and how will the neighbour get them.

- How to avoid the edge reconciliation nightmare: the game may regard the edges to be at different altitudes as a result of highway connections, or of ploping (or even growing) a building at the edge of the map.

and a lot more.

Have you made any decisions on the above?

 

EDIT: If everything is OK,  I'm interested in cities 13 and 11. My preferred building style is: Very dense

REPORT:

 

Once the mayors are elected in, I will then ask them which type of city they would like.  I know that many people like to have the downtowns, however not everyone is going to get to have skyscrapers and commercial offices.  If you request to have large skyscapers, you may not get it if it does not fit natural looking in the city.  Just thought i would add that, because some people are asking already what kind of city they would like.  I know no one likes industrial cities, but please, we are going to need people who are willing to take that challenge.  If you win, I will tell you which city style you will be making the city into (with consideration on the city style you wanted), and if you do not get the city style you wanted, you can stop from playing, and they mayor that followed behind you in the election will be mayor of the city.

I want City 8. I would also like to suggest that maybe the uploading of cities to you should be prolonged to two weeks. Divide the region into two and mayors of one side upload to you on the first week. Then the other side uploads in the second week. That way, it won't take too long to load for readers. You know, there are 16 cities... Just suggesting...

ELECTIONS JUST AROUND CORNER.....

In City 15 & 16, there is now going to be a race, instead of the initial mayor, winning without a election.  Please be reminded that there is 6 more cities that need to have an inital mayor before we can start the pre-election.  After every city has an initial mayor, we will wait 2 days for any more wannabe mayors.  Then elections will be held.  Good luck to mayors!

I have created handbook that I will be giving to all the elected mayors.  Basically it explains what will be happening. Elections are really close people.  Be prepared to have your friends vote for you.  Good luck future mayors...

Of course the cities with water would go first.....anyways hope more people will consider coming in.  However,please dont apply if you are not planning to be playing Simcity 4 that often, or if you might quit half way through the CJ.
