Does your custom stuff dissapear when you un-install simcity?

When you use the game uninstall, it gives you the option to keep it or delete it.  This would include all of the "My Documents" folders, and the added Plugins in the "Program Files" folder.

The safest solution is to make a backup of your plugins folder(s) to a CD/DVD or external HD before you do anything. Heck, who knows? One day your HD may decide to kick the bucket, and what are you going to do then? Reinstalling SC4 is simple. But scratching together all those plugins can take a while. In the worst case, you will notice some stuff has become unavailable in the meantime! That's why it's always a good idea to keep a backup. Do the same with the folders of the regions in which you are building. This will make you prepared for any case of bad luck and provide you with another card up your sleeve if something gets lost during a reinstall.

Of course what tungston said is 100% true (it mostly is ), but it can't hurt to be on the safe side - better to have made a backup too much than one too few.
