Col-Joe Thanks. Those limos are actually livery taxis (car services) or private cars (sometimes called “Black Cars“ which are a segment of the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission.

Private cars/ Black Cars mainly serve business clientele while livery taxis serve neighborhoods or areas where there aren’t many normal cabs. They use luxury cars (mainly Lincoln Town Car’s) instead of the standard issue Ford Crown Victoria’s which are used as yellow taxis.

They also can’t be flagged down like a taxi, someone must call and arrange to be picked up. You can find more information about them here.  Just a bit of taxi trivia for the day.

Well, a new year a new update. Its been awhile since I last made an update but I finally have a small update for everyone.

Here's the latest shot of my region.

You can see the building's and transit networks much more clearly now thanks to the snow covered ground. Not to much region development happening lately as I didn't have get much SimCity time in over the holiday's.

Though, what time I didn't spend working on the region I spent making a new car mod, or at least BATting the cars for the mod. Not quite sure how to get the cars into the game though. If anyone's interested in my little car mod side project or would like to help just let me know.

Until then stay tuned and watch the STEX and the blog for another BAT release.

thats looks awesome with the snow mod and it's easier to get an idea of were everything is. i can't wait to see more progress in this cj and i'm also excited about this car mod and bat release that your talking about. keep up the awesome work!

Goin2Chicago, Thanks. That's one of the many great things about the snow mod, it makes it easier to pinpoint exact areas and buildings from the region view.

thundercrack83, Thanks. Winter hasn't been snowy for New York... or much of the country lately. (Well, with the obvious exception of Colorado). The first snow for the city was last week, a little late in the season IMHO.

PLEASE!! by the way, I think that the buildings and the streets are cool, but I think that it would be better if the map would be a scale map of NYC, the maxis' map it's ugly and it does not got the real shape of lower manhattan, but it's still ok.

Well another month another update. But first I’ll respond to comments and questions (sorry for such late responses).

uglydisease, sorry but it’s not possible. As N_O_Body said in another on the topic it would be, “impossible due to the large number of user contributed plugins.  Not only are there intellectual property issues, but such a download would be too big for most sites, including this one, to manage with any sanity.”

Mr. Beer, welcome, good to see you here. Thanks, those were photoshopped in. I’m not sure if we‘re technically able to have those in SC4. Maybe in SC5.

The World Trade Center collapsed due to the 9/11 attacks and the extreme heat from the fire. I still have the original WTC because there isn’t a Freedom Tower BAT to replace it with yet. For now Lower Manhattan is stuck in a time warp in pre-9/11 New York.

Maybe in the future I’ll replace the towers with a construction site.

I’m also wondering what happened to 1 and 4 World Financial Center. The XDesign_Team is still in the process of making them… it was nearly finished. I hope XDesign hasn’t left Simtropolis as the last post they made was mid November.

lucky7, welcome, it’s actually a BAT made by Superstar, the NDEX Grand Aqua Mall. You can find it here. It’s based off the Wintergarden but isn’t exactly like it.

cmdp123789, welcome to you too. Yeah, the Maxis region map was very inaccurate, even after my terraforming and reshaping it looked just O.K. Manhattan could be better, but I’ll have to settle for my disproportionate Manhattan. It’s not that bad, but it isn’t as good as Beskhu3epnm’s

NY region map.

Last week I posted an early release of my NYC Subway Station pack in the downloads section at the blog. I'll upload it to the STEX in the future but you guys get the limited release before it hits the STEX.

Finally, I’m still busy with RL and school so there’s not much time for SimCity. On a personal note I just got word a relative passed away yesterday. I was going to make a special St. Patrick’s Day update of  the parade but I'll have to make a belated St. Patrick's Day update when I'm able to.
