I can, but can you tell me exactly what SC4TF say ?

Do you have a message box ? => tell me exactly what the message is

Can you read & send the content of sc4terraformer.exe.log that may be in your installation folder ?

Can you tell us what is your system configuration & GPU Card ?

Without that I can't be of any help

    Take care

What is your Graphics Card? What drivers are you using? Do you have any other 3d/2d game running in the background while trying SC4TF?

are you sure you have the correct version of DirectX9.0c ?

you should have d3dx9_30.dll in your c:\windows\system32, if not you should read the readme to get the correct version

if you have it, run dxdiag.exe from start->run and run the test to see if anything goes wrong

if everything is ok, then maybe your GFX card is too old and can't handle windowed mode

    hope it helps

    PS : thx pos

This probaly have been ask before, but I am going crazy.

How do I changed the radius and strength of the tools ?

Have seen a picture from an earlier version where there at the top of the Zoon Tools is some slider to change them, but I don't have them.

EDIT: I got the floating toolbar (where I can change the radius, the strength ect) to show. but how I have no idea.

    hi vester

I moved the radisu/strength slider to another window, normally it should appears at the bottom of the 3D View

    vesterwi2.jpg

but depending of your windows screen resolution, ( 1024x768 for example ) you may not see it completly. if you are in 1024x768, you should made the window taskbar floatable or hideable ( don't know the correct term in the englsih windows xp version ).

you can also delete the file config.ini that is located in the SC4TF folder, it will reset all windows positions.

    Take care

    Thanks for the respons.

I edit my previous post at the same time you responde.

I have resolution bigger than that (1024x768) so I should have seen it, but I didn't show at first. Now its there.

you need to edit the config.bmp of the region you have created

the steps when creating the region are the following

    - run SC4TF

    - create a new region, specifying the size in small city units

    - exit SC4T

    - go to the folder of the new region

    - edit&save the config.bmp with any image editor see CONFIG.BMP: How To Make It, and How To Make It Yours

    - run SC4TF and open the region

    - now you can terraform

    - CTRL-S to save

    Take care

Dang, my copy of SC4Terraformer just shorted out!  I just installed some XP updates, to include IE7 and MediaPlayer 11 beta.  Anyone know if there's issues from those things?

Here's the output the debugger gave me:

    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "SC4Terraformer.py", line 1, in ?
      File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 78, in load_module
      File "SC4TerraformerApp.pyo", line 3, in ?
      File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 91, in load_module
    ImportError: MemoryLoadLibrary failed loading tools3D.pyd

    Help!  I miss terraforming already!

And there it is! Yes, I was missing that .dll, all is now working! I'll try rolling back my system to before I made all the updates to see if any of them were the cause of my wayward .dll. Thank you!

sorry, me again. my problem now is that I create a region 4x16 and it won't let me scroll on the region view. All I can see is the first two large city tiles (I changes the config to be 4 large city tiles).

I'm very impressed with how quickly you respond to questions by the way. You must be a very busy person.

use the arrow key, besides that I can't help you much more. Can you scroll in other big region ? Berlin, New york etc .. ?

    bg7873

There is no need to put in plugins folder, and I urge you to move it to another place this is a standalone application.

And I urge you to READ THE README !. A readme file is not just here to take some place in your harddrive

    Take care !

the new development is that I configured it to all small city tiles, and I could move the region in region view, but once it's changed to large tiles, it's stuck in place

A readme file is not just here to take some place in your harddrivequote>

Oh, man!  I was waiting 'til I had the full set...

    ...let's see [ doing a search ], that means I've only got..

    ...17,411, 17.412, 17,413...

...well, a bunch of these thingies to go through...

...Oh, look- there's one for VisiCalc [ linkie ]...

I don't ask for directions much when I drive to strange places, either.  Some say it's a guy thing.

On a serious note, wouanagaine, and I'm sure you have answered this question before, what code is SC4TF written in?  I'd love to figure out an extension that would just output pure contour lines in greyscale, but that's probably far beyond my puny (and much, much neglected of late) coding ability.

You continue to burnish your rep as a SC4 Einstein [ linkie ] in my book.

    Have a great day!

    David

I have no idea to help you. This is the first time I heard of such things 15.gif

    David

I'm still admiring how much you put in a post 4.gif

SC4TF is written mainly in python and for code that is really cpu intensive I use C/C++

The whole source code can be accessed here if you want to tackle with it. Not very well written as it was only meant for me 4.gif

As for outputting contour lines in a picture, maybe you can come up with an action script in photoshop using the 16 bit png from exporting a region ? or by 'posterize" it. The main problem I forsee in coding that specific feature instead of relying on image editor features, is that when you have a huge cliff and where a lot of contour line should meet.

Anyway I'll thinking of it, and put it in the wish list

I first spreadsheet program I used was multiplan, not so young also 4.gif

    Take care
