Super- Timo: no one on Simtropolis should give you these files as that is against the rules here. You need to contact EA with details of your problems. They are the only people who can give you the access to download the official files. Please do not ask here again or you may find you are banned.

Hi evryone i really want the lot editor or BAT but i cant get them from simcity 4.com as i tried to register before and it didnt give me the activiation email. now when i try to register it says my game code has already been used coud some one just email The L.e or BAT or is the file too big?

I've recently had a conversation with EA and they have informed me that it is legal to host simcity.com programs, landmarks, and DAT files anywhere so long as said downloads are not used for profit.

I shall be hosting all these files on my own site very soon.  Keep a lookout!  4.gif

I had a conversation with Dirk and he agreed to allow me to link to my site with these downloads from ST

I am working on lot editor using an intel mac. Since the mac key board does not have a page up/down button or delete button, Iwas wondering if anyone knew how to rotate props or delete existing props useing a mac keyboard. lmk Thanks

Still wondering if anyone knows how to properly operate the lot editor using an intel mac Keyboard. The program runs perfectly, but the difference in keyboards has me a little lost. Thanks

That's a little bizarre sounding to me.  No page up page down?  I've never seen one like that.  Is it a laptop?  Could you perhaps attach a full size keyboard to it?

That's a little bizarre sounding to me.  No page up page down?  I've never seen one like that.  Is it a laptop?  Could you perhaps attach a full size keyboard to it?

All the laptops have pg up/pg dn as well as home/end...they're on the arrow keys but you need to hold the fn (function) key to use them. The delete button is the backspace key, I think it works if you hold the ALT key down....I'm presuming you're using a laptop keyboard as all full size apples have the keys in question by the numerical pad.

Help.

I was doing the Amsterdam Arena in Lot Editor. I selected the building and added it to a lot. The stadium ends up below the ground. What's happening?

It depends....my guess is you did not set up the model correctly on the x,y,z axises. It would be the simplest explananation. If not, in the LE, there is a threshhold setting for slope foundation you might have set kind of nutty but I highly doubt it.

I'd go back in the bat and take look at your entire model making sure the entire model is set so the following is true!

x=0

y=0

z=arbitrary as long as the bottom of the foundation sits at z=0, typically take the total height of the structure, divide in half and that's the abitrary value.

If you have a situation proving where the model falls below the z-axis and that's not your goal, then yes, a re-export will be necessary. It conformed itself  to the ground, which in gmax/bat z=0 set upon export, thus you're not going to change the structure of what the bat was rendered upon.

Ok this is my first post so here goes...

With all of this modding and understanding of the game, is there any way to now make a growable lot greater than 6x6 tiles in the lot editor? I'm a big fan of growables since I think there's a greater accomplishment when a Pedriana Pharmecuticals (spelling?) grows in a city than just plopping it with the plopp modd. (I know there are larger buildings out there, just still need to browse the exchange.) I'd like to have an 8x8 car dealership or mall grow in my city rather than just plopping it. 

It's probably impossible to do but just curious.42.gif

Also, does using the ilive Reader to modify a lot's properties (school capacity, etc.) do anything to the original building/lot? I don't want to mess with any of the game's original buildings, but just have a lot to play around with.

There is no way to make a growable larger than 6x6 in Lot Editor alone but there is a way using LE and iLive's Reader. If you download my tutorial here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=14016 you can make growable lots whatever size you wish.

If you use the Reader to modify properties on a lot you make then it will not interfere with any of the in game lots.

Have you made sure you have removed all props, textures and buildings from the tile spaces that you removed? The LE won't let you save a lot if you have any items hanging too far over the edge.

It would be helpful to know the exact error message you got from LE when you tried to save though.

Can I turn downloaded props into buildings, and in which program do I edit the properties of buildings?
