I've experienced that same problem in the past also when working with large lot sizes, and from what I hear, its a bug in the lot editor: if the lot is too large, then it won't save correctly after the first time you save it. I believe there is a way to get around this problem, though. If you delete the lot file that is created in your plugin folders before trying to save it should work fine. Also another solution may be to use the save as button instead of save.

I like these sticky question threads...

is there a way to save props that overhang the lot? I know you can save props that are a part of the lot and happen to extend over the bounds, however is there a way to save props that are not over the lot? I think the water lots (cruise ship type lots) do this, (although they could just extend over the edge) however when i try to save a lot with a prop off the lot it won't let me.

Is there any way to save a lot with props that are not anchored to the lot?

jeronij, there is a prop limit. I hit it whil making my botannical garden BAT, but when I hit the max, I wouldn't let me place anymore props. I would try to re arrange your props, so that you can stay below the max.

i was wonder how to make lots made from the LE ploppable.  i dont have the plugin manager or gmax cuz i have a slow dial up connection and it would take days to download it. so is it possible to make plopable lots with the LE?   please help

Your question is a little ambiguous but here goes.
 
If you downloaded a growable lot and you are trying to make it into a plopable lot you must have the PIM. To change a lot from growable to plopable or vise versa you have to make a new DESC file. The LE cannot do this.
 
If you just want to create a brand new lot using the LE... I'm not sure. If it is possible what you would need to do is open a lot that is not growable (i.e. anything except for Residential, Commercial, or Industrial), edit the lot, and then save the new lot. Be sure to use the save as command rather than the save and be sure to give your lot a unique name.
 
Finally, let me just say while I know how to use the PIM and LE I am not an expert. I could be wrong about this, especially the second part of my answer. Hope this helps.

The rubbish bins in this lot appear as two different types, but in LE, they are all exactly the same. What gives?

Could be they are part of a prop family. Which particular rubbish bins did you use?

But in LE it is the bin i want, in only changes in the game, and its a specific prop, not a prop family.

I really can't understand what is happening, garfiedude. I made a small plaza with lots of these trashcans on and plopped them down. The trashcan remained the same in all the plopped plazas.

Hmmm.
On the smaller lots with at most two of the bins, it always gives me that bin, but on two of the bigger lots where there are 3 or more of them, its random each time i plop it.
Furthermore, on thse smaller lots with 2 or less, the bins show up on the placing tool thing along with the main building, but on the bigger ones they don't.
This is both bizzare and annoying 7.gif

I had 8 bins on the plaza and all were identical in game.

Eh, seems they were prop families after all, on those two lots, i edited existing ones, and kept the trash cans that were already there 43.gif

Help!!! LE Problem I've Just Reinstalled SC4D, And Have No Plugins In The Plugins Folder. The LE Keeps Coming Up With Error On Start and Has To Shutdown. I've Tried Reinstalling The LE Several Time And Keep Getting The Same Problem. Any Ideas??32.gif

I downloaded the following:

 
Belton Lofts
Greywood Lofts
Harvard Condos
Oakendell Lofts
 
I want to make them plopable.
 
They do not show up in my LE or PLUGINMAN.
 
In the past I usually delete the original desc. and .lot files and re-do them in the 2 file managers.
 
But the files listed above are .dat....so....what do I do to make them plopable?
