Dependencies

Well after hours of fustration, Im deleting SC4 Deluxe.  This is the 4 - 5 time now.  

I cant seem to get a handle on the dependencies.  On this last try, none of my residendial zones have driveways.  Just houses on green grass and thats it.

What dependencies do I need?  Can I just download the BSC mega packs?  On the last try I downloaded the mega packs after I updated my game from simcity.com.  Im lost.

I love playing sc, but I spend soooo much time chasing down dependencies troubles.

Please advise this lost $%&^!

Well, the houses on green grass is probably a result of the low city detail option being on. I encountered this problem a while back, so I went to the gameplay window and clicked the option for high city detail, and everything showed up just fine. I don't think that has anything to do with dependencies unless they're BATs that require dependencies, which are usually listed in the readme if there is one. I know the dependencies are a pain in the behind, but they are needed and should be easy to find which ones you need for which BATs.

I have the exactly same problem

After I downloaded a series of dependencies needed for the bats I wanted to put in my cities, I lost all the details on the existing maxis buildings. Not just the houses without the driveways but also existing utility, civic and all other buildings are missing all kinds of details.

I will uninstall the game and only download bats and lots without dependancies from now on even though it makes me sad to do this because I like so many buildings from BSC, NDEX.

Cunami, I don't think that dependencies are what caused your problem. Try Cityhawk's suggestion. Oh, and welcome to ST!

agreed with FanG and cityhawk, this sounds like a graphic detail issue, after you install any updates from simcity.com the updates automatically reset your graphics settings to low, this is not a bug it is intentional according to maxis, after you run any updates you need to check you graphics details ingame and change them back to what you want, hope this helps...

Hah!  Beat me to it grey.  Yep, downloading form Simcity.com for fixes causes it to reset to all low detail.

City detail set at medium.  I changed it to High.  Now I have my driveways.

Thanks everyone  I was almost ready to start over again.  

Now Im off to figure out how else I can screw up my sims
