Rail Slope Problems

    Hello,

I hope there is someone out there that can help me with this issue.  I am having extreme difficulties connecting standard rail line.  I usually get the "unsuitable terrain" error even when the elevation between the tracks is a minute difference.  This also is an issue when building rail bridges - it makes it nearly impossible.  I don't think that this has always happened, and I wonder it is a side-effect of a downloaded mod.  Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone offer some advice?  I am running RH on a PC with XP.  I paged through twelve pages of bugs in the forum and have not found a similar problem.

    Thanks!

do you have any tunnel/slope mods installed? (such as this one BRF_TunnelAndSlopeMod-b.dat, the one I use) or any others it will cause this type of issue, the best way to keep the mod and work around it is to work with broader swatches of track and try to stay away from close, tight track laying, if this type of work is needed, close the game remove the mod, do the work, then put the mod back, also its alot easier to work from one track out then tring to connect two tracks together (if you get my meaning) hope this helps....

Thanx, Greyveil! Learn something newq every day. I was having the same problems as Josterha and also use the slope mod. I figured the mod would HELP if anything and not contribute to a specific issue like that. I'm going to try your suggestion and see if some of the headaches go away.

    Thanks Greyveil.

I actually just downloaded the CSX sloping mod at the suggestion of another simster friend and it seems to be working better. I searched for the other slope mods that you mentioned above, but found that I had not installed any of them. It could be that the my DarkMatter transit mod was affecting it somehow, but I have now replaced it with the Simtropolis Transit mod. I will be playing soon and I'll see for sure if the rail is easier to lay out. Anyway, you know what they say - "Sic transit gloria omnia" (sorry; bad pun!) Thanks for your advice!

the best transit mod is the NAM. but you must remember that no two transport mods are compatible with each other. thus you can only have one transit mod installed at a time.
