should do an American basebal or Football stadium, We have TOO MANY European soccer stadiums and not one decent American Basebal or Football stadium for all the loyal American fans.  At this point I don't even care what team it's for, just no more ugly and boring soccer staduims(I'm not saying you're work is boring or ugly, but european stadiums are ugly compared to American ones) PLEASE HELP US FRANZ
quote>

We will never have too many stadiums of any kind. I am aware that there is no us football stadium, so I am planing making one... If you don't wan't to wait, please start your own stadium so we can see how beautifull US stadiums are. The most suprising thing is that no one from northern america (the only place where they play us sports) ever made a stadium...42.gif

I don't really agree with you on your statement, I guess that's because you don't know european stadiums.

Trust me, Franz & I would love to make every stadium in the world, but we simply can't. So we make the ones we like.

Finally, reading this kind of posts does not motivate me BATing a US stadium, I find this attitude kinda annoying... The world doesn't seem to agree with Dupontfan24, cause we all play real football and enjoy it a lot!9.gif World Cups and Euro Cups are really fun you know! Better than playing alone I suppose.

As an american, would you have any fun batting a european rugby or football stadium? Probably not according to your post... So I wonder why I should do the opposite (batting an ugly us stadium).

I don't have anything against US sports. I even watched part of last superbowl final (for not being remaining ignorant when I die!), and it was really not fun seeing the players stoping after one single pass. Why don't they let the game go on???

Make the Camp Nou in Barcelona. It is the biggest soccer stadium in EU and one of the biggest in the world.

That Olympic stadium in Berlin is stunning! I vote for that one.

On another note... what about Hockey? Something like GM Place in Vancouver - ok, not a particularly attractive choice, but it's my home town 1.gif

Or some of the historic arenas in places like Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto

or the Forum in Montreal (I can't find a good photo).

I suggest building the new stadium for the St. Louis Cardinals (MLB). It is being built literally next door, and eventually where the old Busch Stadium is. The official name will stay Busch Stadium for the new one. It will be finished for the 06' season. Here is a unique picture taken from the walkways at the old Busch Stadium, showing some recent progress:

<ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/View%20from%20Old%20Busch.JPG align=baseline>

Now here are a few official renderings straight from the Cardinals New Stadium Site . You can find more by clicking that link.

An overview shot. The seats will be red though.
<ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Overview.JPG align=baseline>

Here is the main entrance.
<ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Entrance.JPG align=baseline>

The southeast corner. Keep in mind it will read Busch Stadium, not Cardinals Field.
<ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Front.JPG align=baseline>

View from the inside.
<ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Inside.JPG align=baseline>

A view from the rear, looking inside.
<ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Rear1.jpg align=baseline>

This project is mainly being funded by the team, and has been ahead of schedule since it started. Again, you can find many many pictures, a full 360 degree view of the stadium, a live web cam you can control, and any news on the project.  Here is the link again.

Not a request -

I'm just announcing, for anybody who is interested, that as part of my Operation Buffalo Wing project, I will hopefully be working on getting Ralph Wilson Stadium (aka Rich Stadium) into SC4 by the end of the year.  For those not familiar, and for those Americans that have been living in a cave since the late '80s, this Stadium is home to the NFL's Buffalo Bills.

This should hopefully be an easy project for me, considering that I live just off to the upper left of the aerial photo.

I haven't decided if I'm going to model the big fieldhouse as well.  I probably will given it's size and relative simplicity.

Anybody who has further interest in this project can simply click the link in my signature to keep up-to-date once I eventually get started.

sargeantcm: They are building an NFL stadium in that kind of area?! It almost looks like farms down to the south... Why couldn't they find better land, and how do you feel about it being so close?

I guess I don't understand what you said...  I suppose it is somewhat odd to have a professional sports venue that far into the suburbs, though.  The only other example I can think of right off hand is the New England Patriots who pretty much play in the middle of nowhere.  I guess there is some talk about eventually moving the Bills back into a downtown stadium (where they played from 1960-73), but that's just that - it's talk.  And giving Albany's reckless abandon of Upstate (oh, they wanted to give the Jets a new stadium), it'll probably never happen.  At least not until WNY seceeds and forms it's own state.

It almost looks like farms down to the south... Why couldn't they find better land, and how do you feel about it being so close?

I think that was some of the appeal of the location.  I don't know too much about the story behind it, but back in the 70's when it was built, this area really was the outskirts of the suburbs.  The infrastructure around this area is pretty good, with several major artierials and an expressway nearby, so that probably factored in somewhat.  Today there is no farming around there, that's just pretty much undeveloped land (not for long) to the right, and all parking lots and Erie Community College to the left.  The stadium just happens to sit in a more open area along the Hamburg/Orchard Park town line.  To the north you have the gridded streets of 50s-70s era subdivisions, and to the south you have 90s cul-de-sac heaven suburbia.

As for living this close, it's really not bad at all.  Of course I've lived here most of my life (although not quite this close).  Like I said, the roads are pretty good, and everybody is pretty aware so everything moves right along.  And the only times there really is a problem is a few hours before the game, and immediately or several hours after the game depending on the result.  The street I live off (cutting across the far upper left corner) is somewhat of a cutoff road anyways, which never sees much traffic.  Technically, if you're not interested in the game, the time to go out and do your shopping and errands is during the game, because the place practically turns into a ghost town.

Sitting at the foot of Mount Sentinal on the picturesque campus of the University of Montana, Washington-Girzzly Stadium holds 23,117 rabid Griz fans.  Home to the Montana Grizzlies since 1986, Washington-Grizzly Stadium constantly sells out.  The 182x402 foot playing surface that sits 20 feet below ground is comprised of a revolutionary artificial surface called SpinTurf, which mimics natural grass.

do the Savvis Center in Downtown St. Louis, this way you won't have to worry about all the inside detail.  just the outside.

Hey Toledo, you have some great suggestions here.  But one thing I noticed is that everyone is suggesting new modern stadiums.  How about going a little retro and doing some historical gems.  Some exemples would be Ebbet's Field, Wrigley Field, Yankee Stadium, Shibe Park, The Old JFK Stadium (Phila.), Franklin Field, or some other turn of the Century ballpark.  Although these listed parks a quite utilitarian in nature, they would give players the option of placing stadiums early in the game when a lot of players like to give thier cities the look of age.  Just a suggestion, whatever you do Im sure it will be great!!!

Personally I would love to See St. James Park with its mixture of old and new construction but its not gonna be popular enougth for that so I am gonna suggest in this order.

1:- Lords Cricket Ground - too many football and other sports stadia on the stex.

or

2:- The old wembley complete with those glorious twin towers and mayby even the arena thrown in as well!

I would love to see the Chicago White Sox's Comisky Park, Chicago Bears Soldier Field before it was expanded (now it looks like a UFO landed on Roman Columns) and if you have time the Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field. I'm a Sox fan born and raised but i'm not gonna lie, the cubs have a nice ball park.

I think it's safe to say that two of america's most famous athletic facilities are fenway park and wrigley field. the two oldest fields in MLB (fenway is the oldest, 1912). Being from Beantown, i would love to see fenway, home of the Boston Red Sox.

I'd like to see the HHH Metrodome
minneapolis_metrodome1.jpg

I guess the main appeal isn't how it is in real life (it's a dump), but rather that the inside wouldn't have to be rendered and that i'd be a nice generic stadium. Overall it would take a lot less time to make than most other stadiums because of its generic nature (which is what makes it so boring in real life.)

I would reccomend the Xcel Energy Center, but it is designed for the slope it is on, so it isn't practical to put in SC4.

Of the stadiums that actually have a shot of being made, I would select Wrigley Field, Emirates Stadium and Yankee Stadium, in that order.
