Kack: I may have to put this on hold, as I have to request Voltaire's models, then do the nice stuff.

I'm currently looking into doing a cargo terminal with storage space and a packaging centre and all that. I'll probably make a few variations and if people want it with company logos on them (i.e.- FedEx, DHL etc.). I started a hangar last night, and that won't take me long to do. I'll get a picture after I've done a bit more work on it.

Just to inform those who were going to/have requested this stuff.

You couldnt create the RD anntena as a sesonal prop?

Your freedom is the most expensive thing you have, even if you arn't the one that paid for it... Use it well.

Or you could do a radome radar (which is becoming popular on modern airports for ground surveillance radars, because of lesser maintenance required) that has rotating radar encased by a ball-shaped dome.

hm... 2 things I think would be cool to have for an airport:

    - water-ploppable aprox lights (there a bunch of airports that have them)

    and

-a grass-version of the runway lots to create real-looking small airfields

GMT: Correct me if i'm wrong but I think there is a grass runway in RMIP-2. And I have requested the water approach lights, they would be SOOOO nice to have. Maybe pilotdaryl would make them but he had to have som models.

Muzz, earlier post:Yup, we should concentrate on cargo terminals, as there are a lack of them on the STEX.  We might wanna make a new prop (e.g. UPS Tristar, FedEX B747-F) for the planes, as the defaults are all passenger planes.

Nice hangar you got there!  I suggest making the lot a little bit smaller (if you could) and making more, there aren't many of these on the STEX either.  I also suggest putting it in the Airport Menu.

Muzz, bourneid, and Blahdy:I thought there was this rotating thing, on top of the SWAP Medium control tower.  You could use that in-game prop, just make sure to custom LOD your tower so it doesn't interfere with it.

Quert:I think I could do that, but it would be hard, as I would have to make puzzle pieces (which I currently can't do) for the 2-level TE drop off area.

GMT: In the Show us your Airport thread, I posted an airfield called Clayton Airfeild which has grass runways by using the grass RMIP-2 lots.

Hmm... everyone, we might think of doing an MML mod for the original SWAP, divided into SWAP Terminals, Thallascuiss Terminals, Parked Planes, Cargo Terminals, Hangars, Services (Airport Police, Fire), Control Towers, Runway pieces, and taxiway pieces.  Since Xiziz was the original maker of SWAP (Though the runways and hangars were made respectively by Thallasciuss and Joerg) I think he should make them.

hm... this mml would be very useful! 44.gif

as for me, I'm tired of scrolling hundreds of lots in the aiport menu!

Yeah, I would but I have no idea how to do so as it involves modding (as far as I'm aware). If you know how to do it, PM me and tell me how or direct me to a tutorial please. I'll update it if I manage to do this.

GMT: Yes, it is needed.  I just need to see when Xiziz is available, then direct him to the BSC MML thread.

superchad: I've been thinking of doing that for a long time, so I'll take the job.  All it needs is a new overlay texture.

Muzz: The easiest way to do it is by using Ilive's LE Prop available in the Modding Files section.  Then, once ya got it open it, and open your lot.

    You will see these buttons:

Click the one I marked in red.

    See the drop down menu?

Click it, and then choose :Airport."

Then save your lot and you're done.

You can always ask me if extra modding is needed.

Sorry for the links, I did it cause I was too lazy to save it into .jpg format.

Radar on top of control tower is used to manage terminal airspace for small-medium airports, and immediate airspace for large airports with TRACON facilities 4.gif   It's better to do ground radars separately.

Ground surveillance radar sites are still installed throughout the airport (typically 1 or 2 per runway depending on length and amount of connecting service taxiways) to monitor all traffic on the ground.  Note that the fatal KLM vs. PanAm disaster in 1970's where two 747's collided on the runway killing over 500 people on-board was majorly attributed to the airport not having a ground surveillance radar during severe low-visiblity weather (along with pilot not following ATC procedures and radio cross-talk issues).

Diagonal runways shouldn't be that hard, right? Don't you just BAT the runway texture, rotate it 45 degrees, put it on a lot, plop a lot of them together, then you have diagonal runway? It's not gonna match the straight ones, but it's better than nothing. I'd really like more real life plane skins. And more planes. Thanks.

I think we should let Voltaire handle this one (AS I don't have photoshop, and I think with his great pack he should handle it), about the diagonal runways.

Real life plane skins-there are many on the STEX, as well as some fictional airlines (Los Anga).  You currently can only have one skin mod at a time, but fukuda is fixing that with his "Multiple skins for Planes" mod.

About new planes, they're easiest to make as normal props.

Can any1 make a plane that can replace the 707? Hopefully something like the A340 will be nice.

Fukuda (Not an Airport Team member) has created a DC-9 that is on the STEX.  It can replace either the 707 or the 767.
