Removing City/Mayor Name

I don't know if it's possible or not, but I'd like to remove the city and mayor names that overlay my region map.

I like to build mega cities with all my different zones in different grids, but it really irks me that the game forces me to name each little sector.

So I'd like to remove the names all together.

Is there a way to do it?

Welcome, thefinal rune. There's a cheat to change the mayor's name. Im not sure if it works for the city name also. Hit control+x to bring up the cheat box. U can do a search for cheats (there may be a sticky up for it) to get all of the details. But it is doable.

changing the names is easy

hit Crtl +X to bring up the dialoge window type in the following:

hellomynameis (space) "new mayr name"

whererufrom (space) "new city name"

you need the space between the command and the new name or it doesn't work....if the new name is 1 word with no spaces..eg TOM or Toronto the quotation marks are not needed...but if the new name contains spaces they are needed eg John Paul or New York

if you have a name with spaces in it, and don't use the quotations...only the letters before the space will appear...eg without quotation...New York would become just New, John Paul would just be John

But if you use space as a name it would become very difficult when doing neighbor deals. Isn't there just a check box on the region view to view/hide city names? I am pretty sure there is. I just can't open SC4 here at work.

1. your right daddy-o...there is a hide command in the region view sorry i thought he asked if he could change the names...the command for this is in with the satilite view commands...oops...:S
