I have just had a look through your CJ and I quite enjoy what you are doing. The way you are presenting it is nice with these journeys with the train and bus. I will certainly come by to take a look more often.

I'm deeply impressed by your CJ skills. You did a great job on that region. 1.gif

That was an amazing one! Great railway tracks in a marvelous scenery!

My favourites this time are the second with the two parallel lines and the stop at your station with the loooong name (to late here to even try to write it ...)

Can't wait to see your next one!

Frogface, you are a master!

I love reading your CJ and everytime I see something new that I want to use in my region as well. Nice that you gave a overview of the route. I lost my bearing somewhere along the way.

Looking forward to more 35.gif35.gif

Hi frogface. I must say this CJ has had me changing my pants on several occasions. Living in the Home Counties, just north of London, viewing this city journal has filled me with joy. 100% of your region is recognisable and familiar. This is always how i wanted Simcity to look, and you've managed it.

I now myself have downloaded the mod that pushes all the default maxis buildings into one style to allow for only downloaded ones to appear, and am currently filling up my plugins folder with all the British and European style bulidings i can find. You have inspired me.

A question though,

Your region is so real-looking... does it actually work in-game? Are you in the black on all your cities? I'm guessing most of your sims work on the ample farms in the region, with the rest working in the few commertial and industrial areas, and that the taxes pay for all the railway maintanence.

I'm just wondeirng if it's possible to make a region that looks so good function properly, with regards to traffic, crime, commute time, etc, or is it all purely for show?

Keep up the work on the best City Journal I've ever seen.

Excellent update again FF. I was wondering, have you thought about using the Melbourne Transport map mod by Lakeyboy, it will show up the networks much clearer in the transport view. I was hoping someone might do a UK version, I would, But I don't know how...

Exellant update frogface! Love the screenies!

Is this motorway extension into Thames part of a much larger project within the city?

EDIT What is the current population of Thames City?

azwethinkweiz:I'm afraid to actually get things started I had to use a few cheat lots 43.gif unfortunately the biggest cities with tons of landmarks are on a negative budget but thanks to cheats im not running into the red. however! some of the rural areas are running and do actually work. In a way all the cities do work as there is quite a bit of commuting into Thames city (not so sure about mainsborough as i havent been there in a while) but in Thames i have been having some traffic prolems which is the reason for the motorway. one thing ive said many a time is that intercity commuting doesnt work due to SC4's limitations. in RL you would expect to see quite a lot of intercity traffic along motorways and rail lines to main cities but those lazy sims just dont want to travel as far 3.gif

Gryphonite:if i knew how i would try 15.gif it will give it a try but if its one of those where you have to load the whole region again like water mods it might be a bit much 14.gif

Gen:sorry the sprintermod isnt released yet(will try to get it done soon!) i use photoshop for maps!

wallasey:There was supposed to be a big ring type road going around Thames (i might have put this on earlier maps 42.gif) but it was decided to put one through the city to alleviate congestion along the central streets 44.gif
like London city the actual population of Thames is quite small. but metro population is around 300,000. but remember Thames is not to RL scale as you might notice by now 2.gif

moving on with the CJ somewhere completely different...

phew, nearly missed your CJ. When not regularily updating (as you stated) it quickly goes to page 3 and beyond.

Good that I saw it, Great ring road and I like those small on ramps you put here and there.
What I do not like is the bumpy way the road goes around the corner. i know it is hilly, but could you not smoothen it somehow?

I like Borders book on the corner of the university. Did it grow there by randomly or did you plop it there? Great place for a book shop.44.gif

Panguna Island looks absolutely marvellous, Frogface! That shot with Porkissimo's building in it has a real tropical feel to it.. Amazing how these buildings, while designed for Paris, also function quite nicely as one of those typical tropical townhouses.. Great job! It looks amazing!

    Overseas territories, great idea.

Yes, infortunately the melbourne transport mod would is a 'load up all your cities and then save them' job, so I appreciate that that might not be something you would want to spend time on....

    Hey Froggy,

Nice change of atmosphere. I like the idea of those former colonies and the now political unrest gives  enough material for some stories.

Looking forward to see some more (jump of excitement35.gif35.gif35.gif) (can't you make a hopping frog smilie?)
