I really like that last picture of the motorway cutting through the hillside, and the gently sloping overpass.

I might be able to help you there - the motorway is just the in-game highway, but FF probably used the Euro Road textures mod. As for the green signs, they appear on highways in the game as standard.

I love the progress this is making, in perticular, I like the way that you've taclked the submerging of the railway... and that station 22.gif

The motorway... no one protested its construction? Or did the gouvernment just level the protesters as well? 3.gif

Keep up the good work!

Great update!

Have you got an cormemorative plaque for the M1?

I love this idea, I like to do things similar to your motorway scheme, but like you said, SC isn't realistic in the essence that people wont travel all the way. For example, I travel to Liverpool from Carlisle (and visa versa) but if we did something like that on SC, the mway wont have anyone travelling on it!

Is the M1 as well used as it's counterpart?

Fantastic updates!  Im sorry I missed so much of this, I had quite a bit to catch up on since starting my latest CJ.  Great use of photoshop on your pictures and articles.  I love the mixture of buildings and fields.  I look forward to more updates!

The new underground station....how does it work? Are trains really connected to it? (Perhaps you are connecting subway to the station...but having a station that wide it seems the subway trains may get confused and run around it in circles....)

Great update as usual FF. I love the highway signs.

This has got to be the best rural, small city CJ on the planet.
I love the farm layout from the satellite view44.gif

Everyone: thanks for all the comments and taking the time to look in here, every comment fully appreciated 44.gif
nooneatall: I think eventually the protestors gave up, However around Thames people have been quite supportive of it since traffic is pretty bad in Thames these days.
wallasey:some sections seem well used. as soon as the Thames section was opened a flood of buses went on it.
but you're right I dont think a sim will commute Mainsborough-Thames... fairly unrealistic since in RL people will commute quite far. People from my town commute to London 60 miles each day for example 46.gif We can only hope SC5 will improve the commuting simulator (if there is a SC5 of course 2.gif but that's a whole different thread)
jbridgman: If you mean Mainsborough Central then yes! in a way. Its a subway station and the subway is connected to normal rail. Sadly its a bit of a mess with the metro line. The limitations of SC4 mean the lines are connected but in RL I would imagine they would be seperate.
Tennismaster1:Tonks is planning to release them later, in a more polished version as they were just tests
Shadow_Assassin: Those lazy workers 27.gif and no I dont mean the construction crew 3.gif
Left hand drive is pretty neglected, highway signs wrong way...trains still on right hand side when we were promised roundabouts and custom highway signs for the left hand drive version 28.gif

There are a few theme park BATs on the STEX and the football pitch is part of a school. It tells you where to get it a few pages back.

Severn... name sounds like somewhere you would find around here...
And the flats look really 1960s-'70s-'80s British 3.gif

Severn beach looks like a really cozy place to live... 30.gif

I really like the shot of it from Victorian times, though. It's a shame the place was practically levelled for low wealth flats... oh well, to see somewhere without concrete blocks nowadays would be... unrealistic! 3.gif

    thanks all for commenting 44.gif
MrCinatit: I do quite like doing the before and after pictures but its quite time consuming and so I cant do it in every update. 2.gif
Tennismaster1: search these names on the STEX: nomad1 for theme parks and rp2004 for the school with football pitch
nooneatall: yes, quite sad that it has declined but I do like a bit of realism in CJ's 3.gif
gurrgkud:I wouldn't mind speinding a day there too, just watch out for the vomit slicks near the rollercoasters 46.gif

Went on holiday, missed sooooo much! Love the 'Blackpool' feel to Severn beach. This really is  unique CJ you have here.
