My town has been estimated at about 9,700 for the start of this year. My town is the fastest growing, rate-wise in the county. It is still the third largest in the county though.

Hamilton has about 216,000 people I believe...haven't ever really checked in a while. My old hometown of Rutland, Vermont (loved it), had around 65,000 people but seemed so much bigger, yet it mantained it's small-town feel in the beauty of the Green Mountains.

Ottawa itself has about 785 000 people. If you include Gatineau on the Quebcec side of the river, you get about 1 million in the national capital area (of Canada). Both cities boundaries extend way beyond the built up areas... My suburb is well within city boundaries and probably has about 100 000 people in the suburb alone.
