Automatic reconciling when downloading region

Hi. When i try to download a region, when it's done, all the rivers are disconnected from their continuations in other cities. it seems the game automatically reconciles it during the download process. Is there any way to turn that off? because it would take a veeeery long time to go through all the cities and fix it.

Basically what this looks like is the river will be in one city and go to the next, but in the next one, there's a nub of the river, and then land, and then it contintues. it just looks very odd and annoying. Please help!

I think its not your fault. I'm not an expert, but I wonder if someone made the config.bmp wrong.

well, it does sound like an odd error to be getting. The game does 'auto reconcile' unless you turn off its erosioin features. This normally isn't a problem, as maps are usually contiguous over each map square. Could you should us an image of your problem?

Energy Monkey could have it, or the river might be very shallow in the map, and SC4 is losing that detail.

belive there a toggle on/off switch in the game setting (top right hand corner icon of the region view) believe it's in with sound settings ( I thinks :S)

reconciling is optional...some ppl never do it...you can have cities that after 1000m apart that magically connect...43.gif

well, i know it's not the bitmap, because first of all the bitmap's fine and second of all it's just the river flowing from one square to another.

    as for the picture:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

i know it's kinda hard to see in this pic but the image hosting site resizes it so now when i make it big it's all fuzzy. i'll try to see if i can get a better pic. but if you look close at the edges of the smaller rivers the edges are messed up.

oh, and i do have the auto reconcile thing off. so it's not that. btw, whenever you reconcile edges, like with mountains, does it smooth out the part of the mountain next to the edge and then reconcile? and does it flatted the river part next to the edge and then reconcile? does it do any of that stuff on any of your games? or is it just a weird glitch in my copy only?

well looks like the JPEG or the game interpetatiion of the JPEG.. the heights are off slighty and the river aren't well defined
game been know to have issues with lowlands with rivers and islands and their heights
there are ways to clear up most jpeg...with height mods or touching up the jpeg itself if you really wanna play this particular map. Fix it up by hand with the game tools maybe..4.gif

    easiest thing...render a different map...4.gif

... ok but you're saying that when you reconcilein your game, it doesn't mess up the mountains and rivers and stuff? oh, and another thing, on my game when you fly a helicopter if you try to turn it gets all wacked up and starts jerking the other way. does it do that on any of your copies?

There is a no erosion mod but you need pegasus's textures to load it part of the problem is that the game erodes maps that don't need it mostly

no but it doesn't have anything to do with erosion, it's the reconciling thing that screws up.
